"Service was very slow..slow on drink refills while waiting the hour plus on a sat night. .3 of us went, 2 of us got food, one had to wait 20 min before they got their food...everyone's food came out cold. Cold veggies, chicken was cold and very chewy. Appetizers came out warm..but took a bit to get them..one came premeal one came with the meal, which is weird! One woman was running around doing all the orders at the tables, and I mean running..to the point she was sweating..which is kind of gross when she hands out food as well..needless to say get her some help! It was a busiers Saturday, we didn't sit at hibachi, we sat at the tables and seems like a lot for one person..drinks and orders and handing out meals!Atmosphere of the place is nothing special. Prob wouldn't hurt to clean a little more, maybe take down some of the broken decorations that were up...bathrooms smelled terrible and were like a cooler in there!!!! Place has really gone downhill"

"On the downside: 1. The portion sizes were on the smaller side. 2. Some of the sashimi had a slightly off smell. My wife and I are sushi enthusiasts; we often make our own sushi and have dined in numerous sushi restaurants in NJ and NYC. Based on our experiences, I would rate this place a solid 4 out of 5. I wouldn’t classify it as cheap. There are definitely more affordable sushi options in NJ, but as we all know, lower price often means lower quality. All of the sushi we ordered was fresh, except for a few slices of sashimi, which I believe shouldn’t have been served, leading me to take away one star. However, the salmon sashimi was exceptional. We’re looking forward to coming back for hibachi with our family. If you plan to visit on a Sunday, make sure to get a reservation—the place gets quite busy!"

"This restaurant is decent, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. The portion sizes were average, but I was disappointed with the sauce on every roll. I ordered a Spicy Dragon Roll, which wasn't spicy at all, and a Rainbow Roll. I felt that a little eel sauce would have complemented the Dragon Roll nicely, but it was drenched in it instead. The Rainbow Roll I typically enjoy comes without any sauce, but the one I received here was overpowered by it. Sometimes, simplicity is better than excess. While I understand that the chef aimed for good presentation, I explicitly requested light sauce on the Dragon Roll and no sauce on the Rainbow Roll. The restaurant also offers an all-you-can-eat buffet, but I prefer quality over quantity. Whenever I try out a new sushi place, I always order two of the most expensive rolls. Overall, this place is just okay."

"Our first issue was the prices. While I understand that inflation, supply chain disruptions, and rising food costs have impacted menu prices, theirs seem excessive, especially given the quality and quantity of food. For example, they charged $5 for a single overcooked egg roll and $20 for a calamari appetizer (see photo) that resembled leftover bits from a fryer—overcooked to the point of being difficult to chew. Each entree was around $20, and they only came with a pint of white rice, nothing more. Our group of four ended up spending $130 on four entrees and one appetizer. The second issue was the portion sizes. The third concern was the execution of the dishes. The almond chicken came with an odd dark brown sauce that didn’t resemble traditional almond chicken at all. The calamari consisted of a few overcooked pieces served on a bed of iceberg lettuce with sweet and sour sauce. The bang bang tacos looked appealing, but they were wrapped in soft tortillas that tasted underbaked, which is surprising since they likely purchase them from a grocery store. The most troubling issue was that some of the food appeared spoiled. The buffalo chicken egg roll tasted off, and I left the restaurant anxious about the possibility of food poisoning after taking a bite. The calamari also had an overly fishy taste and was tough, making our group reluctant to finish it. When we called to voice our concerns, the manager informed us that there was nothing they could do about it since the owner was unavailable. This restaurant was never great, but somehow, it's managed to get worse. Just to clarify for the restaurant: I am being honest, and I rarely leave negative reviews—my review history would reflect that. To break down what we paid: we received no fresh vegetables, and the buffalo egg roll was undoubtedly spoiled. Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing."

"Unassuming high quality sushi hidden in a Walled Lake strip mall. I have eaten here twice and both times was amazed at the skill placed in the sushi rolls and nigiri. Rice was fresh and the texture and sweetness was perfect. Fish was fresh and well selected. I will definitely be coming back every time I am in Walled Lake. Vegetarian options: Has vegetarian rolls such as avocado, pickled radish, and fermented soy bean. Service: Dine in"

"I ordered two meals, a chicken teriyaki and the steak and shrimp. First let me say, we chose this restaurant based on the flawed review. We should have paid more attention to the 1?s which truly highlighted our experience. In fact, I could just cut andpaste one of them to save time. For a hibachi dinner, the food was tasteless, lacked flavor and seasoning, the rice was notreally fried, but appeared to have been colored as there were clumps of visible white rice, the teriyaki sauce was store broughtout of the bottle, and I could go on and on. We asked for vegetables stuffed spring rolls and received rice covered vegetablesthat were tasteless. This is an over priced restaurant with regards to the taste of and preparation of the food. Believe the 1and 2 accounts of this restaurants food and service."

"The sushi is so fresh. The staff so friendly. I had the Volcano Baked Roll and I can't stop thinking about it. It's tons and tons of crab! My boyfriend got the sushi deluxe platter chefs choice and it was all so good. Also their Veggie Goyza so tasty! I will be back as many times as I can. Best sushi in town."

"I am downgrading my rating from five stars to one. I have been a patron of this restaurant for ten years, always admiring their food and prices, as well as their excellent customer service. Unfortunately, in the last three instances where I ordered takeout, they completely forgot about my order. The first time, I waited for three hours, thinking it was a one-time mistake. The second time I waited patiently, and today I had even scheduled my order to be ready after work. Despite confirming a large order would be ready for pickup by 8 o'clock, I sat in my car waiting for them to prepare my lunch, only to find out they had forgotten about it once again. I understand that mistakes happen, but this recurring issue left me extremely disappointed. The lack of any compensation or acknowledgment of their errors has led me to the decision to never order from this restaurant again. I would advise others not to waste their time or money here."

"Be prepared for an automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill, regardless of the service quality. My family, consisting of two adults and one teenage child, chose to dine in, while most other diners ordered chicken. We opted for steak, lobster, and scallops but didn't receive all of our dishes because the table cook distributed them to other tables. Save yourself the hassle and just order chicken like everyone else; otherwise, you might end up spending nearly $50, only to ensure that others at the table get the higher-priced items along with you. Kabuki needs to improve!"

"After spending a few years in Northern Virginia, I can confidently say that Fishbones is a delightful gem. First and foremost, the value is impressive—fresh ahi tuna tacos and high-quality draft beer at an unbeatable price. The atmosphere strikes a balance between casual and trendy, distinguishing it from the typical bar environment. The decor at Fishbones is upscale enough for a nice evening out, yet the clientele creates a relaxed vibe that makes it welcoming for casual diners. There's no pretentious atmosphere here, just fantastic and creative food—I'm absolutely sold on this place. Apologies for the pun—I couldn't help myself!"

"Tonight, we ordered their chirashi, which has been revised to just one size but is still priced at $35, the former price for the extra large deluxe. However, it had significantly less fish now, which feels like a joke, and they've eliminated the soup and salad that used to accompany it! Why is that? The sushi and sashimi are still delicious here, but these recent changes are frustrating. The extra soup we had to pay for barely filled the small takeout cup, and the cold tofu lacked its usual creamy flavor, tasting bland instead. We have so many wonderful memories associated with this restaurant. It’s disappointing to see such unkind treatment of loyal customers as they potentially say goodbye."

"Had a great time at Izakaya tonight. First time and I love Japanese food... so I wanted to try a few things. The chriashi was presented beautifully with a mini shisho leaf and salmon row. However, the tuna had some red coloring rub off on the rice. It was fresh but a lower quality for a sushi restaurant but I ate it anyways (The only real low point). Most Japanese restaurants also order the Tamago instead of the chef making it fresh in the United States so that was fine... though I always ask... so that I can taste the chefs signature dish. I then order a yakatori with the sauce. So glad I did... and next time I will try with the Japanese salt. I also noticed a rice soup that you do not find often at Japanese restaurants. The ochazuke with the spicy cod row was a hidden gem. This was amazing. The service was attentive. The place start to get packedThe ambiance was a very nice Japanese's decorated restaurant and clearly has been a Japanese restaurant for a while with the decorations and layout."
