"We had an incredible meal at Circa 1886. This was our first time visiting Charleston and we wanted to find elevated food. Tasting menus are one of our favorite ways to experience many refined plates all at once. Circa 1886 has not one, but two tasting menus you can choose from. We got one of each and split all of the dishes. Don 't be thrown off by the small portion sizes because we both left incredibly full. All together it was over 10 plates! The flavors of each dish are complex, balanced, and well thought out. The tasting menu is a flavorful journey, and each bite a carefully crafted experience in your mouth. The menu is seasonally rotating, so there will always be something new to try. Our server was the bartender, Denis, who takes his job seriously. He is professional, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor. One of my favorite things to see at a restaurant is when the entire team is helping to create a great experience for customers. It is not just one server, but a team of people, like a well oiled machine, and all of them are knowledgeable about the menu and the food they 're serving. This restaurant serves with pride.
