"Truly fine food served in a very professional manner at an historic setting. A walk through the grounds and seeing the historical pictures are a must. When we entered the Garden Patio there was a smoke from a decorative fire that was taken care of when we commented as we were seated. The food served was perfectly created and each of four different requests were thoroughly enjoyed."

"I had a lunch meeting here today and had heard great things about their burgers. I wasn't disappointed! I ordered the Flathead burger, which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. My wife opted for the Chicken and Apple sandwich and said it was good as well. We also tried the Spicy Georgia Nuts, which were excellent - sweet with just the right amount of spice and a hint of rosemary. The service was fantastic, and the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. They are known for their homemade ketchup; I thought it was just okay, but overall, it was a great experience."

"Visited here for lunch on my anniversary trip to Boone with my wife. The greeter at the front complimented us on our anniversary-themed t-shirt. Our waitress was very kind and considerate, frequently checking in. We sat in a window table and the restaurant has some nice views of mountaintops. The environment is quaint and comfortable. The food was equally as good. We started with some artichoke dip with toasted bread. The bread was crispy and the dip was warm cheesy and artichokes were tender blending well as a dip with the bread. We also started with onion rings which were fried goodness. I had the spinach and chicken quesadilla for my main course and the quesadilla was warm, with gooey cheese, and delicious chicken complimented well with the spinach. If you are in the Boone area, this restaurant is one you have to try. Highly recommend."

"Pubs can sometimes be deceiving because it’s all basic food so it really matter the quality. This place had a chill and easy vibe. The staff was easy to talk to and the food was honestly so good! I got the tavern burger and was so surprised that it really impressed me! As someone who doesn’t like slaw the curried slaw had good flavor! And the fries were perfectly crisp."

"Pleasantly surprised. I've lived in walking distance to Metro for years, but had never been. I was curious about the recent renovations- so wandered over there for dinner. My partner in crime ordered the fried chicken, and I was jealous the second it hit the table. It was not only pretty, but absolutely delicious- crispy, savory, juicy and not greasy at all. The honey butter rosemary glaze really made the dish, and the mac and cheese was equally tasty. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was also delicious, although lacking in presentation (maybe a little green garnish would've helped it out). "My family and I came to eat on Sunday roughly between 2-2:30. I came in and asked to be seated outside as I had a dog with me. There was 7 of us total. One of the men working told us we could sit at the bar and just walked away. After waiting for him to come back, I told him we would prefer a table so we could visit together. There were 2 empty tables that we could have sat at, but they were dirty. He said if we could wait 30 min, he would seat us together outside. I told him we would wait outside and visit until he was ready. After waiting a while, we went in to see if we could be seated. The man told us to go somewhere else. We explained that he was doing us dirty as he agreed to seat us and then had us wait. He then said we could seat ourselves. The waiter came and said if we could order in 5 minutes we could stay, otherwise we would need to take it to go. He proceeded to sit all of our drinks on the end of our table for us to pass around. Then threw the straws on the table. Extremely unprofessional. I have loved this place for so many years, and I never want to go back. That is no way to treat customers. Terribly disappointing and would not recommend in the slightest."

"We enjoyed a wonderful meal there on Saturday, July 18th for a 60th Birthday. All appropriate Covid 19 standards were met (spacing, masks, cleaning, etc. . Our server was Bruce and he was a busy man! We never felt that he didn't attend to us; somehow he managed to make us feel special and taken care of excellent job Bruce! Two of us had the filet and the other two had the grouper all of us enjoyed our meal. The only possible complaint was that the menu was very small (I believe this was due to the pandemic circumstances . Highly recommend!"

"I’ve had their ribeye, but the last two times I’ve went I just couldn’t help but get the filet with bernaise sauce and blue crab. The asparagus is always a nice touch but the taters are always freaking gooooooooddddddddddd(cont). It’s fancy enough to hold its price but not so much that it drops its charm. I had the steak and eier benedict and my man had that waffel. we found any employee who valet, the staff of the Valet desktop, lobby receiver, bar staff, hostess desk and waitress so friendly. "Exceptional food in an authentic, non-demanding environment. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, which added to the great experience. For bread lovers, there are 3 different breads, all of which are made there and are all wonderful. I stop on the way out of town to pick up bread and take it home to friends. My salad was fabulous and the vodka chicken pasta (a specialty) was cooked perfectly with a wonderful sauce. The specials change with the seasons. Desserts are all made there and everyone looked great. We share the ice cream on Sunday with homemade caramelized marshmallows and chocolate ganache. It was wonderful. You can share it with 4 people as it is very large. We will definitely have dinner here again when we return to Mayo and Golf."

"We found Mason?s Restaurant Grocery in Aberdeen and we are so glad that we did. What a great spot. Breakfast was terrific and now our new go to place! There was a 20 min wait, always a good sign, and they called us on the cell when our table was ready.Tina was our server and she was terrific. She pointed out the most popular dishes, The Train Wreck, The Truck Stop, and conveyedthe specials for the day. We had an excellent meal. The food was seasoned, the chicken was tender, the bacon smoked andflavorful, and the Harissa pork special was nice and spicy. It was quite the treat seeing Brian Hainley there having breakfasttoo. Tables were turned quickly and professionally, and did not interfere with our meal and conversation. The menu is easy tonavigate, with breakfast and lunch items available all day. The drink menu/bar offerings were plentiful with daily specials. Theplace is popular for a reason and we will be back."

"We dined with two vegetarians who ordered the Ratatouille Special, but unfortunately, the sauce tasted like it was just a canned tomato sauce poured over the vegetables—very bland. Our other friends ordered the venison meatballs, but they faced a similar issue: the sauce lacked flavor, and their meal was also served cold. "Food was wonderful the service was fabulous and the atmosphere was delightful. Part of that was the out-of-doors partially surrounded by Fields with cows in the distance was lovely. They weren't too close to be a problem, but it was great scenery! I loved the pictures they had on the walls, providing interesting bits of history. Our waitress was so cute and sweet, checking in to make sure we had what we needed. When we first arrived I was feeling sorry that we hadn't gone to the Mexican restaurant on the hill but ended up being glad we hadn't after all."

"Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water."

"Best bar/restaurant in Folly. The drinks and food are superb. The bartenders are all super friendly. Atmosphere is relaxed but energetic it's just got a great energy and a vibe that's perfect for Folly. The menu has a good variety, including vegetarian options. All orders happen at the bar but they do bring the food to your table. Beer selection is limited but very good. Great place for brunch any day of the week! Grab one of their specialty mimosas, they're all amazing. After 3pm their menu changes (a few brunch items drop off) but it's still a great choice for lunch, dinner, or just a snack. As for cocktails, you almost can't go wrong with their specialties there's something for everyone's taste.Vegetarian options: Several menu items that are already vegetarian friendly and others that can be easily modified for vegetarians."

"Group outing we were charged twice. Went with some colleagues one night for dinner. We may have been the only customers in the whole place. Most of use didn't enjoy our meals. One person ordered the pork chop and thought it was great. Everything else was not good. The bigger issue is that most of us in our group was charged for the meal in Feb. and then our credit cards were charged again in March. Several of us have tried contacting the restaurant but can't get a response. AVOID this place!!!"

"Husband and I went to Halls today because he has never been. We both got the catfish dinners. Mine was disgusting and disappointing. The fish was soggy and mushy. The Cole slaw was too tart and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for along time. The catfish dinners cost $18.99 a plate. I didn't even eat 1/4 of mine. It just didn't taste right. Our appetizerswere okay. He ordered the beer cheese and veggies. I ordered the large order of Banana peppers with cocktail sauce. The pepperswere good. The sauce was not. It tasted like someone had mixed it with fish. Our desserts were also disappointing. He orderedthe cheesecake. I ordered the blackberry cobbler. I asked for the ice cream to be on the side because it takes away from theblackberry taste if they are mixed. When she brought my plate, it had huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on it on top of a tinyspoonful of cobbler. smh. So very disappointing! We spent $99.00 on a meal that wasn't worth even $15.00! Halls is definitelyNOT like it use to be of yesteryear...... and it's extremely sad."
