"Honestly we weren't blown away. I think the kitchen was having a difficult night and despite that, turned out a decent but really expensive meal. Soul food that's price like this soul food is priced should be exceptional, and it was not. It was good. Friday night is prix fixe chicken dinner night and while the chicken was competently prepared, nothing about the meal really blew us away. Partner's steak was likewise quite good, but overall I think i'd return later on a Friday to share a very small bite and a drink or two, rather than coming for dinner. The band and singer performing in the room around the corner from the dining room were awesome. Overall, I'd have enjoyed this more had we not spent so much money, and instead shown up later to watch the show. Better yet, start the entertainment sooner and open up the space so everyone can watch... Consider a refresh of the menu, back to basics perhaps?"
