"Do keep in mind that the restaurant is run by the owner, who also serves as the sushi chef, and his wife, who manages the front desk. As a result, the service can be a bit quirky and on the slower side since it's primarily just the owner at the sushi counter. The cooked dishes from the kitchen are just as delicious as the sushi. Dining here truly feels like being in Japan. Their miso soup is the best I've had, and I absolutely loved the black cod and yellowtail kama. I can't recommend this place enough!"

"We've visited this restaurant about five times since it opened, and each experience has been consistently delightful. The food is fresh and beautifully presented. We've tried many of the rolls, and the BMW roll has become a family favorite, adored by both of our kids. One of our children loves the roasted rice and often orders it with his choice of protein. For a shared family dish, we always get the bamboo, which is packed with fresh steamed vegetables. I've had the curry soup several times with shrimp, and I typically order it with brown rice and extra steamed veggies. It's so delicious! I can't wait for our next meal!"

"This is our new favouite restaurant! On vacation with my son, we could not find parking near the restaurants we wanted to try in the cool shopping areas so we went to get gas and spotted what we thought was a normal sushi restaurant with lots of parking in front of it. We were wrong, this is not your run of the mill sushi restaurant! Miyako is a Peruvian/Japanese fushion restaurant and it was unbelievable! Our waiter Andres was great, we went with everything he recommended, perfect choices. Our favouite was the tiraditos which he allowed us to order 1/2 tuna, 1/2 hamachi (important to know they are flexible). The restaurant was full but we were able to sit at the bar and witness all the amazing dishes coming out of the kitchen. We also got to watch what was the coolest looking Peruvian? chef preparing sushi. Not hard on the eyes at all. Important to make reservations which we did for the following day and for the second night this restaurant did not disappoint. Our server Madeleine was very sweet. This time we had a table and although we ordered most of the same dishes as the night before, we were able to try some new dishes. We finished with 2 desserts that were delicious, a cheesecake sushi roll and some Thai donuts in sweetened condensed milk. Yum. I totally recommend you try this delicious and healthy restaurant!"

"I had high hopes coming into this restaurant, especially after experiencing the great service and lovely atmosphere. However, the food fell dramatically short of my expectations. The salmon was unfortunately old and unappetizing; I found it so unpleasant that I had to spit it out right in front of the server. Additionally, the vinegar used in the rice was far too sour for my taste and completely ruined the dish for me. As for the white sauce on one of my rolls, it tasted like plain sour cream. I can't think of any restaurants in the area to compare this experience to, but I can say with certainty that I won’t be returning."

Big fan of the rolls with eel, as they were fresh and tasty. Pros Regular rolls are very good and you can get a fairly priced meal by adding many regular rolls and sharing. Sushi tastes fresh, even for take out. Cant imagine what it would be like in person! Cons Specialty rolls are good, but not out of this world. Sauces are just generic with sweet teriyaki, and dont have any speciality sauces matching the dishes."

"The exterior isn’t much to look at, which is probably why I missed it initially, but upon stepping inside, everything changed. The atmosphere was inviting, and since there were hardly any other customers, I was quickly seated by the hostess. My server arrived promptly and was very friendly, allowing me a few moments to browse the menu. The menu features sushi on one side and a variety of dishes and appetizers on the other. My food arrived in no time and was absolutely delicious, along with the excellent service I received. They don’t offer desserts, but I’m definitely planning to return. This place exudes class and has amazing food and service."

"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"I absolutely loved this restaurant and can't wait to return! As soon as we arrived, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. From that point on, it felt like the entire staff was taking care of us. They made us feel like part of the family, constantly checking in to see if everything was to our liking or if we needed anything. I tried sake for the first time and fell in love with a coconut-infused variety—highly recommended! We only ordered some sushi and a tempura platter, but everything was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious!"

"Today, a friend and I went to this restaurant for lunch. We had to pick up the menu from the front counter and find a table to sit at. We were the only customers there at the time. After about 5 minutes, nobody came to take our order or even bring us water. There was a man behind the counter who seemed too busy to help us, and a woman who was sitting and eating. She could have at least moved her food aside to assist us, but instead she went back to eating. It felt like we had to wait for her to finish her meal before we could be served. I used to enjoy dining at this place before the pandemic, but this experience has left me disappointed. I don't plan on returning anytime soon."

"We just got our house built in the area and this is hands down our FAVORITE RAMEN PLACE. Let me tell you something. Everywhere we go, me and my husband always make it point to find the best ramen place. We know the best ramen to go in Washington, Maryland etc. and thank god for Ichiban. I would have never been ok to move here if there is no authentic ramen. ?Authentic? for me is all about the good broth. And this place have it!! Date night and celebration days willalways be ICHIBAN dates! My favorite ramen: ?chashu? with spicy sauce on the side. My husband Evan always gets the chashu ramen with extra tonkatsu (great marinade and soft!!! . The ?shoyu? ramen is really good too! I love love love theirAPPETIZERS!! My favorite is: takoyakiii!! Nothing beats their takoyaki and potato mochi!! The sushi... oh the sushi. I honestly think everybody should try their sushis! We always get a take home sushi no matter how full we are! Lol Mayneed improvement: ?beef ramen? (beef was shredded and bulgogi type so the marinade is too sweet for me and I would like it better if it is with beef slices ? the beef bulgogi with rice is really goooooood thoughhh , ?kimchi ramen? (I lovelove love the broth but not a fan of the spam and sausage that comes with it , ?tempura? (it only had 2 shrimps but the breading was great! . TIP: I love spicy! But I want to control it based on my taste, where I can still enjoy the yummybroth so I order ?spicy sauce on the side?. I LOVE THE SERVICE! Pretty fast and everybody wears the mask and I feel pretty safe whenever we go here. Honestly, this place reminds me of how a real ramen should always be. "I had the strangest dining experience of my life. I ordered Japanese Katsu, and as you can see in the picture, it was predominantly spinach—90% of it, in fact. Has anyone ever seen spinach in Katsu before? I also got a vegetarian sushi roll, but I forgot to take a picture of it. Surprise, surprise—it was also filled with spinach. It felt like a total waste of money. To make things worse, I noticed that the bill included a self-imposed tip. I have never encountered a waiter or owner who adds their own tip to the bill like that. I definitely cannot recommend this place to anyone. I’m truly sorry about my experience."
