"After waiting an hour for our appetizers to arrive, someone in our group asked a woman who seemed to be the owner or a manager what was going on. She informed us that our food hadn’t even been started yet! When my friend expressed surprise at this, the manager/owner changed her story to say that she meant it would be “finished, not started soon.”
When our food finally arrived, the burger was overcooked, the steak tartare tasted stale, and the catfish special was undercooked. The only positive note was that our waiter was very kind and apologetic about the whole situation, which clearly was not his fault.
If the restaurant had been crowded or if the staff appeared to be overwhelmed, I would have been more understanding. I know operating a restaurant is challenging, especially these days, but everyone except our waiter seemed completely unfazed by the chaos, and most of the tables were empty. Other reviews seem to be mostly positive, so maybe we just had bad luck. Still, I would recommend dining elsewhere."
