"We decided to brush it off and ordered two pizzas, along with two glasses of wine for myself and one for my wife. After the pizzas arrived, I asked the waiter for two glasses of water, a standard request that should have met with a simple "Sure, no problem." Instead, he hesitated, fumbling for words as if he knew he was about to say something absurd. He finally revealed that, unfortunately, the tap water wasn’t working. He offered us the option of purchasing either sparkling or still water.
This raised a lot of questions for me: How is the restaurant operating without tap water? How are they filling pots without it? Are the bathrooms even functioning, and if they aren't, how can the restaurant remain open? I find dishonesty frustrating, and my wife had already had a stressful day. Our night out was meant to be enjoyable. While the food was decent, we likely won't return. If the restaurant wants to charge for water, they should just be honest instead of spinning a ridiculous story about the tap water being out. It's an insult to our intelligence.
From the expressions on the faces of other patrons when they heard the same story, it was clear they didn’t believe it either. No thank you—we won't be coming back.
