"I found the food tasty but a bit on the heavy side, as it felt oversaturated with oil for my liking. I chose the egg white omelette, which didn’t have any cheese (a win for me and my lactose-intolerant friends) and was packed with fresh vegetables! It was incredibly flavorful and larger than I anticipated, although it did leave me feeling a bit greasy afterward. The potatoes were even more heavily oiled and slightly oversalted, but still quite delicious. The meal included a piece of toast, which was simply white bread toasted with what smelled like butter; I skipped it, but my brunch companion mentioned it was oddly chewy, possibly because it was wrapped in foil right after toasting. She opted for one of their signature avocado toasts, which she loved. Although it appeared small, it was surprisingly filling, as they piled on what seemed like half an avocado onto a delicate piece of multigrain toast. The bread struggled to support the hefty avocado and salmon, so she ended up using a knife and fork, but it was still very tasty. The cashier was kind and attentive, but we experienced a long wait for our food; even though we were the only customers in the café, we waited over 25 minutes for our to-go orders. Fortunately, we weren’t in a hurry, but I’d suggest looking elsewhere if you need something quick. Despite the wait, Cafe Bee has a charming concept with excellent options for those on a plant-based diet, and it remains high on my list of recommended breakfast spots in NYC!"
