"We've eaten here twice first was for breakfast (good); second was for dinner. It's a bit of a drive for us, but we had dig up two gift cards from years past in the office, and decided to give Ortega's a whirl The food was excellent. As with most sit-down Mexican restaurants, we "chipped out", and were all reasonably filled by the time the appetizer came around. Queso Fundido a cheesy, fatty, well seasoned dip of comfort goodness. Flavor and consistency-wise, it was very good. If I had to nitpick a little there was a touch more oil one the top than what I'm accustomed to, but that was more than made up for by the outstanding taste Their mole enchiladas were perfect. Many places "over mole" their dishes, and to me it appears the preference. I liked Ortegas in that the mole was the primary nuance of the dish, and not like eating melted bars a chocolate. : The other dish we sampled was the Huachinango with plantains as the main feature. It was pleasant not too sweet, and very well put together. However, I preferred my enchiladas (since I ordered them We'll be back, and won't have to bring gift certificates. And BTW the bartender was on point that evening I had to fight myself NOT to get a second mango margarita"

"Del Pueblo has been in business for a LONG time, and I've gone there many times. I'm always happy with the food quality and the price is very good too. They survived the lockdown, which says something too. Their customers appreciate them enough to make special trips there or have it delivered. They also have a good selection of dishes around $10-$11 for catering, so we order food from there for our church groups sometimes."

"Definitely the best QUESO! Pure comfort food! Overall nice service and friendly staff. You always make sure you are good with your food and drinks. For the crowd of people in the restaurant, Alamo Cafe has done a solid job to ensure that the bathroom and dining area was clean. No problems and we'll eat with Alamo Cafe again."

"First, I ordered the salmon toast. I specifically asked if the cream cheese could be without capers. The waitress is not a problem, they could do pure cream cheese. my toast came with NO cream cheese with Arugula salmon and red onion. When I asked the waitress where the cream cheese was, she said, "Oh, yes, we don't have a fresh cheese anymore"... the communication between kitchen/staff/customer was bad. If I wasn't properly informed about cream cheese, I would have ordered it differently. In addition, breakfast Burrito tasted like cafeteria from a hospital for $17. WAAYYY overpriced and service is unfortunately different for the location."

"This was the first time we 've been to Alamo Cafe since August 2021 when we had a 'below par ' experience. The manager invited us back and we were so glad he did. The Fajitas were as good if not better then most restaurants in San Antonio, the tea tasted fresh brewed, and the tortillas and salsa were just as good (if not better) then we remembered. What added to our experience was our server Joey who was attentive and responded to our requests in seconds (not minutes) when he wasn 't a few steps ahead of our requests. The manager stopped by the table to check in just as Joey was receiving a much deserved tip. When we tried to 'recruit ' Joey to come work for our company, the manager said 'He can 't, he 's part of our physical inventory ', grabbed him around the shoulders and quickly ushered him off....LOL! THANK YOU ALAMO CAFE ..... and Joey@ and as you can tell from the foto... we thoroughly enjoyed our food!"

"A group of us stuck in Mickey Land for a convention were looking for a Sunday brunch spot. Oskars in Waldorf sounded like what we wanted and off we went. While I'm not a fan of buffets, this one looked amazing, with more variety than usual including a smoked salmon bar, ham bar, and honey dripping from a honeycomb! There were a lot of families with kids so it was a bit noisy but that didn't really affect ... everything the group of 4 tried we loved. Only two things that were a little strange was that the cost of the buffet only included mimosas, not **** Marys and no eggs Benedict on the buffet. However, what impressed me most was the commitment to making the customer happy. When I got to the salmon bar it was empty even though two staff members I asked told me it would be replenished. When I mentioned it to our waiter he came back and said they were going out which was disappointing. The manager came over apologetically and said they even sent Hikton next door but they were out until Monday ... not what I wanted to hear. 15 minutes later the manager appeared with a plate of the best smoked salmon I've had in a long time ... THAT is service."

"Let's talk about the positives first!The Food, The Atmosphere, The Food, The Friendly Staff, The Food. Did I mention the Food?The Atmosphere is cute for sure, very pink, if you're not secure in your manliness, skip this place, if you are secure and you want some good food, absolutely swing in.We were given a recommendation while in town for a photo shoot and absolutely had to swing by.The food was so good, and those prices < < I wish we had amazing food this cheap by us.The staff were great, very friendly indeed!The Cons? (They really are not that bad, hence the 5 star still).Service was a bit slow, not so much the food because that came out on time every time and was so good, but the actual server was mia more than a few times, BUT (And this is the reason its still 5 stars) it was fairly busy, which I feel like this place probably stays busy.Parking... Not enough of it, we got lucky to find the last remaining spot when we pulled in, but oddly enough there was a decent amount of empty seats when we went in for a full parking lot. This works to control the flow of people I imagine wonderfully!Overall, 100% would return any given chance possible."

"I 'm a BBQ guy, so my expectation is high, especially on a reopened place like this. I really want this place to make it. I revisited Dickey 's on Beltline in Irving after seeing a positive review. Some suggestions to the new owner on the food side. Decide if you 're going to slice or chop the brisket. Halfway in-between isn 't good either way. I suggest you offer both and have the cutter ask which way customers want it*. The taste of the brisket (the only meat I tried) is OK, but it needs more smoke taste and smell. It was tender and lean, that 's a good thing. Serve full size Onion rings not those 'tangler ' things. They tend to burn half the order. On the service side: *Turn down the radio! I know you want to create excitement but if the mild manored cutter can 't hear you, it doesn 't work. The cutter saying Onion rings are available but aren 't on the menu is a bummer. After saying YES on availability, he had to ask the assistant. All employees should know the menu, especially the guy taking the orders. Don 't have the cutter try to up-sale customers. If I only want one vegetable (Onion rings), I should be able to order that. By employing a middle eastern guy you may get an employee (cutter) but it doesn 't get you a guy people can understand. Last, $8.25 seems expensive for just a brisket sandwich only, but time and Supply Demand will tell.. Hope this is constructive. Irving needs BBQ. Good luck."

"I placed an order today 11/27/2022 for pickup at 1115 am. I arrived about 1130 my order wasn?t ready. The staff was fairly rude and unconcerned about the lateness of my order. I waited about another 10 minutes and finally received my order. My orderconsisted of 2 lbs of brisket, 1 lb of smoked sausage, 1 lb of chicken breast, and 1 lb of pulled pork. I got my order home andwe could tell that all the meat was dry like it was placed in a refrigerator and reheated the next day. I?m pretty good atsmoking meat and know once you pull any meat out of the smoker it?s beyond tender and extremely juicy. This wasn?t the case allthe meat especially the chicken and pork was dry. The store also tried to mask the dried chicken by pouring bbq sauce on thetop. Chicken breast cannot be reheated because of this. I spent well over $100.00 on this order to have my order consist of leftovers. This is absolutely ridiculous and should be addressed immediately. Update: thank you for the response but it seems likeyou responded just to show the community that you are taking action. But the fact is nothing is changing with this franchisee.This particular store is receiving several one star reviews. "Where to begin… so the oysters (if they have them) are ridiculously delicious and that’s coming from somebody that can go 50/50 on oysters. Chef Rusty knows his “stuff” and does not disappoint here. This is hands down the best restaurant left in the village now that Porchlight is closed and even then I would say they were always neck and neck but just had different cuisines which is exactly what Smyrna needs. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, and when that is paired with high quality food that is prepared with care you have a solid outcome. This place had always been a staple in the village for years and it should continue to be. Great place for brunch, lunch, and dinner and is always an easy choice."

"We never eat out anymore, but I was craving some queso, I didn't want to cook..So we decided to call in for carry out. I get it's a Saturday, and I'm sure they were a bit busy...but some advice staff, if someone calls and asks if they can order carry out..if you are slammed say so!! Give a wait time, something. Most of us have worked on food service get it. First off when the girl answered she just said Yeah. I wasn't sure at first I even called the right number. I asked if I could order carry out. She said Yeah, one minute put me on hold..10+ minutes later, nothing.. It was just one red flag after another. This is the second time something like this has happened and prevented us from even eatting there. They insinuated last time we actually ordered they were busy, and when we got there they were dead so Idk this time if it was they were busy or lazy...It's a 50/50 anymore if the staff is kind and helpful, or trash.. idk why this location is like this, the one in New Albany is and has always been amazing. Food and staff. Considering it's almost $50 for our usual order of 2 burritos, rice, beans, and queso that has shrank to half the size it once was. It's just not worth it. The last time we attempted to order is the same day of the last few reviews with photos of the food looking like a mess. So I guess it's a good thing the girl ghosted me tonight. We will not be back anytime soon... We ended up going out and seeing who had the shortest line...It was Taco Bell by Rural King. They were polite, professional, that girl at the window had the cleanest, most pressed unform I've ever seen, hair neat, she was adorable. Our food was hot, correct, tasted good, extra sauce without asking, the bag was even organized so nothing was crushed, quickly done...You got outdone by Taco Bell. Tumbleweed needs to reevaluate themselves and some of their staff.."

"My wife and I were here a few months ago and decided to return. This was our second visit since a flood devastated the building. We began with a pitcher of Sangria and ordered Chicken with mushrooms and Shrimp stuffed with crab meat. Both entrees were delicious. A salad was served with the meal. The dining room gets quite noisy, but it's worth the noise to enjoy truly outstanding food."

"we came here last weekend and the hype we told was: tacos are super huge and very tasty. now for beginners, lacked a taco and turns out, not even on the reception and the dame that worked the register did not hear me, although I said it loud enough that my wife heard me and it was very audible, but the dame could probably not hear me because how loud they kept music in this damn place. can't have a conversation. eat wise for the tacos I got. mid-tacos. there was literally nothing special about these tacos and were not big at all. the tortilla was big, but the tacos were 't filled and very little cheese. we visited by san antonio, so the standard on tacos is high and san marcos has not this standard, almost as she 're in austin when it comes to eating. another swallow is that they only pepsi products in their well drinker that were the half of the aromen. a star only for the fact that one of the salsas was pretty good, made the tacos a little better. hard to say what salsa it was, although nothing on the salsa bar was so marked his just salsa. never again to this place. overly expensive and simply not."
