"The food was exceptional and absolutely delicious. I requested a substitution of chicken for veal in their martini dish, and the staff happily accommodated my request. My husband ordered the shrimp risotto special, which was simply mouthwatering, and my son enjoyed the spinach pasta. Although my son wasn't fond of his salad, that was the only misstep of the evening. The busboy was genuinely interested in understanding his opinion, which was a nice touch. I also tried a Malibu Bay Breeze, and it had the perfect tropical flavor. The service was top-notch, and there was plenty of parking available. I'm glad we decided to give Gavi another chance. The prices were competitive and fair. Make sure to save room for dessert! We can't wait to return."

"We have been twice in the last 2 weeks ... which describes how much we love Metro 8. The porcini mushroom noodles are my favorite along with steak and tuna. The vegetables are always so fresh and perfectly prepared. The salads are crispy and dressed properly, and the wine list is huge and tasty. Perfect for dates, girls' nights or special occasions. Correctly priced for the top quality food you get. Better steaks than Angus Barn, better pasta than Maggianos, and much cheaper. The terrace is our favorite dining space, but the tables inside are super romantic. We will no doubt be back soon. Great service, fantastic atmosphere, top bar and wine list and local food to celebrate small businesses ... all my favorite things! Parking is so much easier than downtown Durham and we love the taste of 9th Street. The desserts are fantastic and the coffee is delicious."

"A hidden gem? I reviewed their menu before making our reservation?and after seeing some familiar favorites and things I have been wanting to try, I booked us a table. First, this restaurant has the warm, quaint feeling of a family-run restaurant but with all the accoutrements of a fine dining establishment?Sommelier, extensive menu with fine Italian cuisine and a complimentary wine list, several wait staff for all your service needs. They were extremely attentive. Nomosquitoes or flies. My guilty pleasure is Pasta Grannies, so I treated myself to the arancine, fried balls of rice and cheese (terrible, right? So good! I also get the caprese every where I go, and it was excellent. We ordered thebolognese and my husband had the pomodoro. Safe choices? Yeah. But at a new restaurant don?t order anything crazy (if you want amazing seafood go to a sushi restaurant, if you want good steak, go to a steak restaurant, if you want goodgnocchi, go to an Italian restaurant... and second, ask your server what they recommend. Molto bravi!! Grazie!"

"excellent choice for a romantic night! beautiful atmosphere, quiet, picturesque and elegant furnishings. has a well-stocked bar, but has limited selection of mixed drinks (my wife wanted a standard mosque mule, but they were not in the position to accommodate). certainly, this is not a deal breaker from every stretch, because they are more than for those with the most amazing wine selection I have ever seen (my dinner drink of choice). the cheese, sun-dried tomaten, and roasted red pfeffer was amazing, but I had known that it would cost more than my main course I would have reconstructed order a main course. the pasta was perfect, but found the ricotta tortellini needed a little more taste. Wife loved her gnocchi saying that it was as good as what we ate in a walk caffe on our slum week in italy. I was really shocked that they were not packaged on Valentine's Day. this place deserves to be booked every night. with 2000 restaurants in nyc I would skip these and definitely visit here again."

"We came here on a Sunday and there was a soccer game on in the bar area with cheering fans which made it quite noisy for us. But eventually the game ended and it got quieter. I had the arugula radicchio salad and the gnocchi bolognese with meat sauce, and both were very good. My cosmopolitan was very weak though.My Dad liked his Miso salad and salmon. The waiter never told us the specials, although I overheard him telling the table next to us. The service overall was poor, I had to ask the busbo … – show"

"We dined at Liana 's last night and had one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences of all time. We came in right after they opened for the evening (5:30) and took a seat at the bar. At the time, there was only one other group of diners in the restaurant. We were handed menus fairly quickly by the one server working in the restaurant and then proceeded to order a glass of wine each. The bartender came over at one point and we ordered dinner. He didn 't write anything down, but I didn 't think too much of it at the time. We sat there with a glass of water each, our wine and a bread basket with three pieces of bread until about 6:50 when I was finally able to make eye contact with the bartender (who had taken our order) and inquire about the food we ordered. No one had checked on us up until that point. The wine was long gone, so was the water and the bread. When he went into the kitchen to check on our food, he came back and told us there was no record of our order. I told him we would just take the check for our wine and leave. He got our check and then didn 't come back to take our credit card. We had to borrow money from a lovely couple next to us in order to have enough cash to leave! We were so upset by the lack of attention, the failure to submit our order to the kitchen, and then even having to pay for the wine we had after waiting an hour and a half for nothing. I don 't know how they can make this right, but they did not seem to want to do anything last night to help turn the experience around. It was so frustrating!"
