"My friend and I had resi’s on V-Day for 7pm. I get it, it’s a holiday so it was understandable that we didn’t actually get seated until 7:20. The hostess was really cute and sweet about it so THAT was no big deal. What WAS a big deal, was that once we were seated, we waited almost ten minutes for water and menus and then another five minutes for the waitress to come take our drink orders. The waitress disappears for several minutes and then returns to take our food order. We ordered a few tapas and one main dish to share. We still haven’t received our drinks, yet the food started coming out. Are you kidding me? I ordered a freakin’ sangria (your darn namesake) and my friend ordered a glass of wine and we’ve been waiting for close to 15 min with no drinks in sight? I flagged down our waitress and amazingly the busgirl was just then coming up behind her. Once we had our food, no one checked to see how we were doing....not once! The next time anyone approached us was when the busboys came to clear the plates. I was a waitress many years ago so have a low tolerance for poor service. It’s a small restaurant and while it was busy, we saw many waitresses so they certainly weren’t short staffed. Anyway, food was good....not great, but good. As my Mom used to say, “it was nothing to write home about”. We will not be returning to this establishment as there are too many other great restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen to give this place a second try."
