"The service, atmosphere, and food at this restaurant were excellent. A group of five of us tried the Calamari, which was perfectly cooked. I am a fan of lamb and have tried it prepared in many different ways in various restaurants. Up until last night, my favorite had been the braised lamb shank at a now-closed restaurant in Chicago. However, Va Bene's lamb dish has now taken the top spot for me. The lamb was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and flavorful. It was served in a rich, dark red sauce that complemented the meat perfectly. The dish was accompanied by a creamy feta risotto that was so delicious, I would order it on its own as a side dish. The staff were friendly, attentive, and worked together well. They made our dining experience enjoyable and seamless. If we were locals, this restaurant would definitely be on our list of favorites."
