"The service was a little slow but the chips and salsa never ran out. When the food arrived all was forgotten. My meal was amazing as was all the meals at our table. I'm not a huge Mexican food fan but I married a woman whose mission is too eat at every Mexican and Tex Mex place in the country. My verdict is better than most. If you factor the reasonable prices, it cannot be beat."

"Waiting to be seated took a long time, even after I mentioned to the hostess that I had joined the waitlist. Once we finally got to our table, we had to wait another 10 minutes for a server to come over. When she did, her approach was quite abrupt—she jumped right in with “What do you want?” instead of offering any sort of greeting. However, once we placed our orders, things improved. The food arrived promptly, but the chicken fajitas lacked flavor. On the bright side, the elotes were fantastic!"

"This place exceeded my expectations. The chips always comes out warm and fresh and the salsa and queso are fresh also. The entree portion sizes are huge and extremely filling. The margaritas are made perfectly. You get more than your money’s worth here. I’m glad I tried this place. It’ll be on my list of restaurants from now on. "As far as Tex-Mex goes, this is one of the better places I've been. The chicken enchiladas with tomatillo Verde sauce is the best I've had at a restaurant. The chicken was well seasoned and the sauce wasn't too tangy or sweet. The Mexican rice was not good, in my opinion, but the cilantro rice was decent and had a little kick to it. The borracho beans were very flavorful! They were delicious. My husband got the diablo combo with chicken and shrimp and he said it was cooked and seasoned well. The shrimp were big and the butter sauce just made them even better. My son ordered the Rodriguez dinner and he really enjoyed it. We also had the Cadillac margaritas but they were not that good. I ordered mine on the rocks and it was pretty warm for a margarita... Definitely don't suggest getting those. Overall I'd definitely come back for the chicken enchiladas verdes and borracho beans!"

"My husband and I decided to revisit Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant for lunch, as it had been years since our last visit. Unfortunately, our experience this time was disappointing, mainly due to the poor service. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t busy—there were only three other patrons dining. After being seated, the server asked if we were ready to order, but we needed a few more minutes to decide. However, it took a frustrating 15 minutes before she returned. I eventually had to get up and find her, as she was chatting with someone in the back. When I approached her to let her know we were ready to order, she casually asked, “What do you want?” right there in the hallway, making the interaction feel rushed and unprofessional. On a positive note, the food itself was good and met our expectations. However, the lack of attentiveness and professionalism from the server overshadowed the meal. Based on this experience, we decided not to return to Mi Casa. While the food is decent, the service needs significant improvement to make dining here enjoyable."

"I found it. One of the biggest bummers about moving from the west coast to NC was the dearth of authentic Mexican cuisine. So, it was certainly an unexpected and pleasant surprise finding this gem in northeast Raleigh. Though it 's attached to a gasstation (albeit among the most modern and ritzy ones I 've ever encountered), that 's where the hole-in-the-wall stereotypeends. Clean establishment, massive menu, prompt and friendly service, and food that resembles everything I remember about myhome state. I had the huge burrito, and my wife opted for the street tacos. We were not disappointed. I 'll be returning hereweekly at this rate."

"Start with free chips and salsa. Food is always fresh and sometimes sizzling when it comes to your table. They have an extensive menu, almost overwhelming, but they have something for almost all. Waiting was always acceptable, and to be honest, I wouldn't be upset if I had to wait a little more, the atmosphere is happy. Beef/steak, chicken, shrimp/fish/scallops, vegetarian, children's menus, lunch and dinner, desserts, soft drinks/hard liquor, TVs, fish tank and a .25 rubber ball machine. The staff was always good for us and the children. Remember to increase your tips a few dollars, these servers deserve it."

"We recently rediscovered El pobre restaurant for the first time since they closed during the pandemic. We have ate at Papa's and Beer and Los Amigos numerous times since then. Everything was awesome!.. the quesadilla Rica, beef and bean burrito, enchilada, beef taco. .. The grilled chicken is cooked and seasoned perfectly. Unlike Papa's and Beer bland, dry grilled chicken I know good food. I used to have my own restaurant The chips and salsa are the best in comparison to the other two restaurants. The chips are thin and crispy. The cheese sauce is awesome Loved the refried beans. The only shortcoming was the rice was a little on the mushy side. This was probably an exception. Everything else made up for it. The night we went they were short-staffed and we had to order at the counter and our food was brought out on paper plates with plastic utensils. The food and great service made up for it. Thanks Ell Pobre! You're number one! .. again"

"Sorry, I ate my food before I could take pics. It's that good. My vegetarian peeps... I hate ordering fajitas and just get a plate of bland onions and bellpepers. Hands down best Toledo veggie fajitas with onion, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes it was just delicious and the sangria... have only one it will sneak up on you. The veggie chimichanga was ok but I didn't enjoy as much as the fajita. I always get the same waitress when I go and she's so friendly, cute and sweet so tip her well people! Enjoy"

"Sure, honey! The atmosphere is colorful and appealing. The restaurant itself is clean the cabins and the seating comfortable and cozy. Before I give a review of the meal myself, let me talk about the waiting staff. we had a server called Luc! (pronounced LOOSE) she was funny, engaged, attentive and courteous we love her! We had fresh, homemade chips with homemade salsa that was excellent The Guacamole was the best we ever had! We ordered both chicken fajitas, which they were served on the large plate, seasoned with chicken, sweet peppers, mushrooms and onions and grilled to perfection. They were also served with the best fried beans, each of us ever had them smooth and creamy and delicately seasoned. The Entrée was served with two hot tortillas, salad, acid cream and spiced rice. We give this restaurant 10 stars and would recommend everyone to come!!! The atmosphere here would welcome families and where certain children would be thrilled with menu offers, we cannot wait, come back!"

"The food was flavorful, but as someone else stated, the shrimp was cooked dirty. Sangria wasn't very strong, yet very refreshing on a hot summer day. The waiter was awful. No personality, forgot my chips and salsa, had to ask even. They came after my meal. I asked for beans instead of rice, but got rice anyway. There are better choices nearby. You have to pay at the register, no table service which is super lame today."

"When we finally ordered two entrees, the first one arrived within five minutes but was poorly prepared and unappetizing. We didn't receive the second dish until nearly ten minutes later. Even though there were still Uber Eats orders being taken and picked up, we felt rushed out the door, despite it being less than ten minutes until closing. I've never experienced such rude and unprofessional treatment before. EDIT: I've attempted to call and speak with someone about this issue twice, but both times the same person who served us hung up on me. This is truly disappointing."

"We found this restaurant during the pandemic and quickly became regulars, loving their excellent food and service. Unfortunately, our recent visit was disappointing. Both the food and service fell short of expectations. We’ve always enjoyed this place and might consider giving it another shot, but our latest experience was so different from just a few months ago that we’re unsure. Prices have gone up significantly, and when dining out, I expect at least the food or the service to be satisfying. While I understand staffing shortages—having worked as a server myself—that doesn’t seem to be the problem here. I sincerely hope they can turn things around!"
