"I was in midtown and wanted some good cuban food and experience. For years it was always fun to sit at the bar, get some drinks, and listen to the live music. This time around, that was not the case. When I asked the staff about the music, and why the bar area was absolutely empty at 9:30pm on a Saturday, the response was uncomfortable i could tell. Apparently the decision from upper management had been to do away with live music roughly about 2 years ago. The staff member noted “it really has hurt us as an establishment because the live music really drew a lot of people.” When i sat down initially my empty water glass was dirty and had not been washed. The waiter was great and noticed it and discreetly replaced it. The staff and service was great. But 9:30pm on a Saturday night, the city that never sleeps, Victor’s Cafe was less than half full. I’ll be honest. It was sad to see. The bathroom not taken care of, messy. Maybe because it was the end of the night? But an empty bar, less than half full restaurant, i think some time could have been attended to the restrooms, men and women."
