"It was a beautiful restaurant, but I doubt I would return for anything except the tempura. The tempura batter was nice and light probably the best I 've had in OC. A note to the restaurant though, I 've never had a good broccoli tempura the batter gets into the broccoli floret and never cooks tastes awful. The same was true here. The chirashi sushi was okay some of the fish was mushy and did not taste fresh. Both my kids had the ramen, and even though they are usually ramen fiends, found the ramen unpalatable and neither could finish even half the bowl. My daughter had the tonkatsu ramen and it smelled and tasted heavily of sesame. I 'm not sure if it was intended to have so much sesame oil or if some spilled in, but it was way too much...and I love sesame! Our server, when we saw him, was very nice and polite but was incredibly forgetful. He forgot basic requests we made, he came and asked how our dinner was almost immediately after it was served and then shortly before we were ready to leave. We had to ask for beverage refills. At one point, he noticed our empty water glasses and said he 'd be right back with more water, but then never came. It seemed like there were more than enough waitstaff to service the number of tables that were occupied, so I 'm not sure what the problem was. There was also a gentleman who was standing on the floor...his stance reminded me of a pit boss or a bouncer. I 'd read so many reviews talking about a manager there made it sound like he worked the room and made everybody feel at home. I guess he had the night off."
