"My family was visiting me and wanted to have some BBQ, so we decided to try this place. After ordering we waited 45 minutes for our food, and only 2 out of the 4 meals were right. We tried to explain the situation to the man who took our order behind the counter. We were very understanding that they were short staffed and was just hoping to have the order corrected. Instead that man was snippy with us and said “I sent out four plates” and was confused why we wanted the correct order. We gave him the receipt showing him how wrong the order was and he was still rude to us! A true man-Karen! My meal was one of them which was messed up and it took over an hour to get my food out. When it finally came out, I had to put on so much hot sauce to actually make it taste alright. The man-Karen offered to refund my meal yet never did (I didn’t initiate asking for the refund, but maybe he realized how rude he was and was trying to save-face). I’m embarrassed that this is the memory my family has of Durham, since it painted the picture of rude hospitality and disgusting sanitation (almost all the tables inside and under the shaded patio were full of dishes the bathrooms resembled gas station bathrooms). Will never ever waste my money here again."

"I came at about 4:45 on a Sunday night to pick up a quick dinner. ordered several small items, a children's meal, a five pieces and a three pieces chicken strip, and a hotlink sandwich. At the 50-minute mark, I went to the counter to ask about the food. The girl at the counter said it was only accumulated. I had a year old and a two years old with me, who were incredibly patient, but more and more fear. Our food came a few minutes later to wait almost an hour, and we decided to eat in the building as we originally wanted to get out to go to the park, but now it was almost 6:00 and dark. The food was such a disappointment. Upstairs everything was incredibly hot, but that tells me that they were so muddled that I was there that they couldn't even start our food. A head up if we were ordered? ve was very nice. That they must? ve was online orders or phone orders because hardly anyone went to make an order at the counter. The child's meal was divided between my toddlers, and her chicken was so caresed and chewing that no one would eat it. My teens also had chicken strips, and the outside was hatched in pieces, not in all appetite. My hot compound smelled really strong of burnt meat. The experience was so disappointing and the waiting time was just crazy. Another thing that frustrates me is on the POS system it requires a tip that is now consistent with most restaurants. So here I tipped for an experience I was disappointed with, but since you set the top preemptive, there is no way to take it back. The girl at the front was really friendly through this whole experience and offered a free slice of cake, but at that point we just wanted our dinner. My teenagers and I won't go back, will they?"

"I paid $40 for a slap of beef ribs meal with two sides. First I asked for green beans and potatoe salad. I received green beans and baked beans. I said ok not what I asked for but I can still eat this. Opened the box of ribs to find them extremely burnt smothered in BBQ sauce. I called merely to explain my experience and just wanted an apology when suddenly the young man that answered the phone hung up in my face. So I get in my car and drive up there to confront him. He stated yes I hung up in your face and yelled for his cousin to come get me.i showed the cousin the burnt ribs which I still had half of it and explained he needs to coach that guy on customer service. He kept getting smart. I said that's how stuff pops off in Memphis. I told them to keep the money and don't want the food Neverrrrrrr will I return. I took pictures of the ribs. This was the location on Winchester and German Town rd."

"We LOVE the food and the employees at Big Nick’s! You know how sometimes you go to a BBQ spot and EITHER the meat is amazing but the sides aren’t? Or maybe the sides are delicious but the meats aren’t? Here, everything is delicious! We are picky (I like to say discerning) eaters from Atlanta. And every time we are up this way for a break from the city, we make at least one stop here! Our very favorites are the brisket, ribs, pork, tater salad and key lime pie. Seriously soo good! i’m a big sauce person, but the meat here doesn’t need sauce IMO. And…if you ever see that they have brisket pimento cheese egg rolls on the specials menu, don’t hesitate on getting those! I wish they’d have them on the menu regularly. They are the best indulgence combo ever!!Each of the staff we’ve encountered has not only been nice pleasant to interact with (read: they like their job and seem to be treated well, which feels rare in the restaurant business since the start of the pandemic) but they are all passionate about the food and the service they provide. Hunter has served us at the counter the last few times and he’s great!The dining room is open 11-8 every day, and they take to go orders from 8-9pm without dining room service. Definitely worth choosing this spot of any others!"

"I was super hoping this would be an amazing BBQ restaurant. I have been to quite a few bbq restaurants, and sadly, I was not impressed. Now my husband really liked the meat. We ordered the 2 meat and 2 side combo's. Both with pulled pork and ribs, potato salad, and mac and cheese. The pulled pork was on a bun, and for some, that's probably just fine. I, however, didn't order a sandwich, so I didn't want a bun. I think the pulled pork needed more sauce. The potato salad was not to our liking at all, and my husband rarely doesn't like food. It was runny and very sour like. The Mac and cheese was better than the potato salad but was lacking on sauce also. Too dry. As with every restaurant and every person-some people may like the food so if you haven't tried it, give it a try for yourself and decide. "3.5 Even before today's topsy turvy and confusing world of the 2020 21 22 pandemic, indoor outdoor, drive thru, to mask or not to mask that is the question ....the state of our reviews appear to have been foreseen in a sense by Shakespeare, Men judge by the complexion of the sky The state and inclination of the day. King Richard, II Act III, Scene II And so begins this particular review....on a bright, sunny afternoon when I was in search of fuel for both my automobile and my body. I've frequently bypassed the Shell station in which this kitchen is housed inasmuch as it is often crowded...I assume by patrons of the Loveless Cafe next door. But on this day, the pumps were all open, save for one, and so I stopped. After pumping, I decided to check the inside and was immediately drawn to one of the day's special ....Natchez Hot Chicken Sandwich. In short, the sandwich was made to order; a large 5 or 6 oz? lightly floured and well seasoned chicken breast, deep fried and served on a soft, fresh bun. It was garnished with mild, run of the mill coleslaw and 3 slices of dill pickle. The flavor was savory, mildly hot not over the top Nashville style . The light dusted coating of flour was almost over fried see my photo ....but was really just right for my tastes. Unfortunately that level of fry left resulted in the chicken being a bit dry, yet, it still held a modicum of moisture and was not chewy. All in all, I really enjoyed it. I was hungry after all. I will try to stop here again to check out the biscuits...having had the Cafe's many times. Just curious how they all stack up. Other offerings are available throughout the day and a drive thru provides convenient no contact pick up."

"What impressed me even more was the exceptional customer service. The head chef is incredibly passionate about the cuisine, his heritage, and his family. He prepared all our meals to order—even though he typically doesn't do that—and he even treated us to some sweet fried plantains because he was so eager for us to try them. If I didn’t live so far away, I would definitely come here every day. I also heard that the guava pastries are so popular they often sell out within the first hour of opening, and I’m always on the lookout for those delightful treats. Overall, this restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a date, a family gathering, or even a solo visit."

"We were on a lengthy road trip from Dallas to Virginia and West Virginia when my wife discovered a story about Dem 2 Brothers BBQ. She mentioned that the owner, Adrian Wright, had played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and that instantly grabbed my attention! When we arrived, we met Braxton and Ashley, Adrian’s son and daughter, and immediately felt at home thanks to their warmth and hospitality. But the BBQ was truly the highlight! Wow, it was outstanding! I had a sliced brisket sandwich with sweet potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious!"

"The food is enjoyable about half the time. You can never be certain whether you'll get juicy, tender ribs or dry, lacking flavor ones. My last experience was the final straw for me—it was disappointing to see them raise the price of the meal by $5 while providing half the usual amount of seasoning. Typically, a half rack of ribs doesn’t fit properly in the takeout box, but this time it fit with extra space on both sides."

"The ribs are amazing. Bones slip out each time with ease. Leave you with a ribbed steak that is mouthwater. The BBQ Beef Sandwich is Top 5 Sandwiches I've ever had. I have it with the white Slav (mayo-based) and sweet tomato sauce. The maize cake gets its own heel. It is the sweet and damp compliment at any meal. It's so good! I hate eating corn bread, but always order this maize bread. It's amazing, like cakes."

"I grew up enjoying Essen Dk's, and every time I'm in town, I have to stop by to satisfy my cravings. My friends even bring some to me here in Florida. If you haven't tried DK's, you're truly missing out. It's hands down the best barbecue around. I dream about their sandwiches! Mr. Moses knew exactly what he was doing when he opened the restaurant.
