"We happened to go on Mother's Day, and it was packed! The line stretched out the door even during lunchtime until 2 p.m. The service was very warm and accommodating; the staff was attentive and consistently checked on us while promptly replenishing our food.
The dim sum selection was extensive, and there were also regular dishes available. Overall, everything we tried was quite good, with no disappointments. We sampled durian pastry, steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed spare ribs with rice flour, tofu stuffed with shrimp, stir-fried beef noodles, steamed rice noodle rolls with tofu skin, almond balls, and fried shrimp dumplings.
The durian roll had a hint of the fruit's distinct flavor, with a crispy exterior and a soft inside, making it very enjoyable. The steamed shrimp dumplings were tasty, featuring tender shrimp meat, although the dumpling skins were torn.
The tofu stuffed with shrimp was delicious. The shrimp had a slightly salty flavor, but the tofu helped balance it out nicely. The fried shrimp dumplings with taro, made by mixing shrimp meat with shredded taro and frying them, were crispy outside and tender inside—a must-try!
There's ample free parking available around the restaurant. Overall, Far East's dim sum certainly lives up to its reputation, and I highly recommend it.
