"My husband and I do a LOT of traveling all over the US. We are foodies and love to try different restaurants. WE love all kinds of cuisines and are not strangers to authentic NY style pizza. While visiting the area, my sister and I stopped in for a couple of slices on a Saturday. at $3.50 per slice, it was just enough as the slices are large. I enjoyed it enough to stop back today with my husband.First of all be aware that I did some research, and this is the most expensive pizza in the area by a factor of @15%. Naples/Marco Island is already VERY expensive, and it is tough to get a meal anywhere for under $50-$75 for two. I'm referring to a decent plated meal in a restaurant. But this is a pizza place...We walked in at @430pm. The store was scheduled to close at 7pm. We were the only customers in the store. That said, late in the day, there are no slices to be had, so you are forced to order a whole pie. Their plain pies with cheese, and cheese/Pepperoni start at $15, with added toppings at $1.50 each, and they only offer two sizes...medium and large. My husband always orders a white pizza, which is a large only at $22. We asked if they could do a smaller one, but was told no. We had already stopped at 2 other places that had long waits, so he decided to go for it.So we ended up for two people mind you with a large and a medium pizza....wayyyyy to much for us...for $52 and change. Really! two pizzas for $52.00. Yes, I realize we chose to do that, but really, would it be too hard to offer slices all day, or offer a small pizza? As we waited....and waited...We waited for a little over 30 minutes for our pizza. We all know that a good pizza over will cook a pie in under 10 minutes. What was going on in there? While we waited, we counted 6 other customers. One waiting for their order, some picking up a called- in order, and some ordering from the ready made menu. We walked around and looked at the grocery items, and the items in the reach-in cooler up front.I've owned a restaurant, and seeing all this pre-purchased food I realized that most of their menu used pre-prepared or frozen. The pizza dough, the pre-shredded cheese, etc. NO actual cooking is being done here. They are just putting it together and heating it up. This is part of the reason why their prices are so high. One reason for their higher prices could be they don't seem to have much trade. Their location is kinda hidden from the road. meaning they are possibly not doing well enough to pay their rent without adding to their food prices. When paying for the food, the cashier told us there is a difference in the cash/credit card price, and there is a higher rate for credit. They are passing along the fee they pay for credit sales- another tell-tale sign of a failing business. Finally, we were underwhelmed with the pizza. Wayyyy too much cheese for authentic NY style. It had good flavor but we couldn't eat more than 2 slices it was just too heavy. We ended up with $40 worth of pizza that we can't eat.We were left with a very disappointing impresssion of Frankies for many reasons. Their pricing is significantly higher than their competitors, they punish the client with extra fees for cards, it takes a long time to get a pizza, they don't offer small portions, and they are inflexible when it comes to accommodating customer requests.I do not recommend this restaurant unless you don't mind paying for average pizza."
