"I had been wanting to stay at this inn for years, so my expectations may have been too high, but ultimately I was disappointed. The inn is advertised as vegan, so I assumed everything would be vegan. However, upon entering the lobby, I saw a brochure promoting an African Wildlife Conservation Center that breeds antelope, giraffes, and zebras. Non-vegan beverages were available at Ravens Restaurant (see my separate review for more details). We were pleasantly surprised to find two chocolate chip cookies in our room, which was clean and a decent size. The bathroom was a bit small and the shower had poor water pressure, but I appreciated the refillable shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner instead of disposable travel-size bottles commonly found in hotels. However, after discovering non-vegan items in the lobby and restaurant, I began to wonder if the toiletries were vegan as well. The lotion had a strong fragrance that I did not care for, but the towels were soft and plush. The fireplace with complimentary wood was a nice touch. The king-size bed was comfortable, although the pillows were too soft for someone who sleeps on their side. My partner and I were both startled awake by the sound of an animal in the wall. Despite the inn not promoting itself as an eco-resort, I was surprised to see disposable Keurig coffee pods in the room. Overall, I am glad I finally had the chance to visit, but I would not choose to stay here again, especially considering the cost."

"Lovely hotel! The hotel is clean, well maintained, spacious, quiet, and nicely designed. It was a treat to have Le Labo Santal 33 products provided in the bathroom. The hotel felt luxurious and is definitely a 4-star. My only issue with the hotel is the front desk attendant. I didn’t catch her name; however, she was young, seemed inexperienced and was extremely condescending. When I checked in she failed to go over hotel basics, such as amenities. When I went out for dinner I stopped by the front desk to inquire about such amenities (i.e. checkout time, the hotel gym, restaurant details, WiFi, etc. . Then when I checked out she didn’t understand how the deposit return process worked. Instead of conferring with a senior manager, she told me the wrong answer. I knew it was wrong so I probed more. Then she said “since you don’t understand let me write it down for you.” I was appalled by her audacity, blatant disrespect and lack of humility. As a result, I cut her off and asked to speak to a manager. She told me the manager was unavailable. But, the manager overheard and came out of the office. The manager was able to set the record straight pertaining to the deposit, apologized, and wished me well on my journey. The manager circumvented what could have been an awful exchange. Despite my unfortunate encounter with the “green” front desk girl, I had a great experience. I think the girl needs more training, as she works on customer service fundamentals. Overall, I recommend the Wall Street Hotel and hope to stay here again!"
