"I found Taco John's six years ago during a trip to Iowa, but sadly, I haven't been able to locate any in the southern states where I currently reside. They serve amazing tacos, burritos, and a variety of Tex-Mex dishes. Their combo meals usually include potato items that resemble tater tots and offer a selection of optional toppings. All in all, it's a fantastic place to satisfy your taco cravings without breaking the bank."

"We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. There was a lack of communication from the staff which resulted in some errors with our order. The potato oles were underfilled and undercooked, while the churro was hard and overly greasy. Our Philly cheese sandwich was bland and lacked flavor, even the vegetables were tasteless. The chicken tacos were decent but had an unappealing mass of sauce in one spot. Overall, the food was not worth the price we paid, totaling over $40. It had been over 20 years since my last visit to Taco John's in Cloquet, and I now remember why I had avoided it for so long. I do not recommend dining here."

"The person taking our order acted like he didn't want to be there and just wanted us gone. Everything else was good, and the rest of the employees were great. But he is the first impression. "Been waiting in line at the drive thru window for 20 minutes without a single soul taking payment or anything. Then asked to pull up after paying and waiting.. not sure what they're doing back there but it shouldn't take 20 minutes plus pulling us forward on 4 tacos, 2 churros and 1 drink.15 MINUTES waiting after being pulled too? oh and there were cars behind us getting orders before us. Ridiculous"

"First the food was great! The actual restaurant is a very gross place, the bathrooms looked like dungeon, and the actual places to sit where very, grimey, the food is so good so it’s still worth a trip, just order to go. "The lady who was working the front counter was very friendly and even remembered that it was taco Tuesday which was awesome on her part as an employee. Another great thing that day I don't know if it was the owners of the store or district management that was there working as well and I was really impressed that they had more then just three people working. Another great thing is that they had an employee running out orders to tables as well. That's a great change for Taco John's from my past experiences there. I hope that you guys keep it up this way! "I had come in yesterday specifically asked for a STEAK boss bowl and a CHICKEN snack quesadilla, I made sure it was read back to me correctly it was. I even double checked at the window, but when I got home and saw my food I had a CHEESE quesadilla and a CHICKEN boss bowl, I don’t often have issues with taco johns but it’s getting bad. Lobby is never open therefore I couldn’t come in n speak to the manager that made my food. To say the least wasn’t pleased"

I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food they offer compared to the popular chain Taco Bell, and their prices are very competitive. The hot sauce also packs a flavorful punch. "I ordered the #1 at 1130 pm.l at drive thru. 2 tacos, potatoes and a drink. For 8.69.I upsized to large they said thanks pull up. The total was 14 something! What the heck?? Then I got home and the potatoes were so old nasty I could tell just from looking at them they were gross (I did try one, because I really want satisfaction, and try not to base solely on appearance) sure enough they were soggy and tasted like old grease.So I paid $15 to consume 2 stale tacos and a large Pepsi, and throw out a large order of potatoes.Bring back twilight tacos or close earlier if nothing is fresh after 10 pm?"

"This restaurant functions as a dual-concept venue, which can sometimes result in a dip in quality on both fronts, but I was happily surprised. The tacos surpassed my expectations, and the strawberry cheesecake was outstanding as well. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, and all of the staff members I encountered were friendly and helpful. "I arrived at the restaurant, and the staff member informed me that there was a ladder to access the roof. I wasn't sure why we would need to go up there, but that was the explanation given. Then they mentioned that they were closed until dinner, even though the sign outside indicated they were open. I would recommend staying away from this place!"
