"You all know how often I complain about the lazy and indifferent service I typically encounter in Austin. It often feels insincere and disappointing to me, but that’s not Manda at all! She knows the menu thoroughly and is great at recommending dishes, and you can tell it’s because she genuinely believes in what she’s serving. She confidently suggests the next course without being pushy, truly just aiming to enhance your dining experience. Manda shares bits of her story and her family, balancing friendliness with respect for your space. Plus, she even encouraged us to leave a review on Google, which was a refreshing reminder. When was the last time a server took the initiative to promote the place they work at? If I were still in the hospitality industry, I’d hire her on the spot.
Now, let’s talk about the food—it was absolutely fantastic! Ron didn’t even finish his dish, he was so full. Wow! I enjoyed every single bite. It was a bit salty, but then again, what Cajun food isn’t? Their dirty rice surpassed my own, and I have to admit, I’m a little envious. Don’t bother with extra sauces; they’re really not necessary—except for the beignets, definitely grab as many of those as they’ll let you!
We will definitely be returning. Manda even challenged us to a crawfish boil contest and mentioned Deckhands, saying they would beat them. That’s our favorite place, so challenge accepted—let’s see who comes out on top!
