"I am quite passionate about Thai food since much of it is delicious. However, since much of their food is on the spicier side, I tend not to eat a lot of it. Which takes me to the city of Albany where I had the opportunity in trying out Bua Luang . Located in the heart of downtown Albany directly on Solano Ave and just a couple blocks east of San Pablo Ave, this place has been dishing out delicious South Asian Thai food dating way back to 1990. Which means locals and residents of surrounding areas have eaten here at least one time or another. As far as their menu goes, this place is fairly standard with a wide variety of Thai offerings. This includes noodles, curry dishes, seafood specialties, soups, fried rice, and salads. I came here with my significant other during the evening of Saturday 4/20/2024 at around 8:00pm. Luckily they were open until 9:00pm which gave us ample time to dine-in, order, and enjoy our food. As far as the interior layout, this place has a very classic cozy feel to it with wooden accents and unique Thai-inspired displays throughout. It isn 't the biggest place but still enough to accommodate at least 30 customers. They do have a very nice wooden outdoor deck (which I am guessing was built during the pandemic) to enjoy the more comfortable days and evenings. The hours are also quite generous as they are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30am-2:30pm (for lunch) and 5:00-9:00pm (for dinner) while they are closed for business on Monday. Once seated, we were given two iced water. I knew exactly what I wanted prior to coming here and that was none other than one of their main signature dishes, their Panang Beef . This dish used thick red 'Panang ' curry with tender beef, lime leaves, ground peanuts, bell peppers, sweet basil, and coconut milk while served with broccoli. My lady went with their Pad See-Ewe (with chicken) which is pan-fried rice noodles with traditional broccoli, Chinese broccoli, carrots, eggs and bean sauce. We also opted for a side of Jasmine rice and I chose their Thai Iced tea as my beverage of choice. Both of our dishes arrived in roughly 10 minutes and everything was piping hot. As for my beef dish, it has the perfect amount of sweet and spicy with a distinctive and noticeable coconut/curry flavor to it. Even though I am not the biggest fan of spicy food, I could tolerate this. I sampled some of her Pad See-Ewe and this was cooked to perfection as there was a very generous serving of chicken inside. Overall, its safe to say that the food in general was above average and delicious. Not jaw dropping amazing but a smart choice if you 're looking for a family-owned Thai restaurant in the East Bay. All in all, Bua Luang was the perfect comfort food for our Saturday evening. And if you can 't dine-in or even pickup your order, they offer online ordering delivery through all the major food apps; DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, and Postmates. As for the restaurant itself, the service that our female waitress provided was excellent as she made sure our waters were filled up and that everything tasted delicious. The atmosphere, ambiance, price, and most importantly, the food was good. My rating for Bua Luang, an above average four stars."

"PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BAKERY BOSS BAKERY . THEY OFFER HORRIBLE SERVICE TO PATRON. Please read this and you will understand. Too bad I can not give them a minus ten thousand stars. I walk into the bakery today after picking up some dim sum across the street at Three Stars Restaurant. I wanted to pickup a few thousand egg tarts and pork buns for my daughter 's after school sports program. You know how hungry kids can get after playing after school sports. I had a bad experience with the bakery staff when they opened up a few years back. The staff was totally unorganized then so I assumed that after a few years they may have worked out the kinks. Boy, I was so wrong. They are still rude and offer double standards to people they know and other customers that walks in. This is what happened today. I was there around noon time and there were a few customers waiting in line. I just stepped forward a bit and the gal behind me just step over the line and cut in front of me. The staff seen it and said nothing. Then this gal bought at least ten items. Being very observant and knowing the approximate pricing, I thought her bill would be around $20 but was astonished that the cashier told her it was only $12.00. The customer told the staff that she wanted certain items that the staff have to reach in to get like the egg tarts. She wanted the one all the way in front of the counter. The staff complied. When I came to the counter, I asked if i can have those unblemished egg tart in front of the case. The female cashier refuse to comply. I ask why did she do it for the customer in front of me, she refuse to comply and wanted to give me the egg tarts that had quite a bit of blemish. I told her why i did not get the same service as the previous customer and she just snarl at me. I guess I caught her NOT TREATING ALL CUSTOMER EQUALLY . Well I never going to patronize Boss Bakery ever until they learn to treat all customer equally. I just walked out and went to the other bakery further up on Noreiga. I really like to give my business that treats patrons nice and equally. For these afternoon program, my usually order is three dozen pork buns and another three dozen egg tarts. Too bad I will be patronizing your competitors. Businesses have to realize the need for customer. Without customers patronizing your business, you business may not exist. Offering rude services does not help. One day, customers will patronize your competitors. Just remember that your business will not exist without our patronage. If you are the business owner, think about how I was treated by your cashier. If you were me, would you go back and patronize this business. You have many competitors within a mile radius, many of your competitor would love to see one less bakery."

"Kao Sarn Thai Cuisine holds a special place in my heart ever since I moved to Marina Bay six years ago. It has become my go-to spot for satisfying my Thai food cravings. What sets this restaurant apart is its unwavering commitment to staying true to its food, providing a consistently delightful dining experience. While you won't find Michelin-star level dishes, you can always expect authentic Thai flavors that make every visit enjoyable. The menu at Kao Sarn offers a wide variety of dishes, and over the years, I've had the pleasure of trying almost everything. From the aromatic Pad Thai to the spicy Tom Yum soup, each item carries the distinct taste of Thailand. However, no matter how many new dishes I explore, I find myself always coming back to their heavenly yellow curry. The perfect blend of spices, creaminess, and tender pieces of meat or tofu leaves me in awe every time. As for the pricing, Kao Sarn maintains an excellent balance between taste and affordability. It's a place where you can relish your favorite Thai delicacies without worrying about breaking the bank. For the quality and portions they offer, it's truly worth every penny spent. One aspect that might cause a slight inconvenience is the parking situation. With only street parking available, it can be a bit challenging to find a spot during peak hours. However, once you step inside the cozy restaurant and savor the delightful aromas, all worries about parking seem to fade away. Though I don't interact with the staff extensively, I can vouch for their friendliness and attentiveness. Even during busy hours, they go out of their way to ensure everyone feels welcomed and taken care of. Their warm smiles and prompt service create a pleasant atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Kao Sarn Thai Cuisine is a gem in Marina Bay, offering consistent and authentic Thai food that satisfies my taste buds every time. Whether you're a long-time resident or a visitor passing through, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. With its reasonable prices, delectable dishes, and friendly service, Kao Sarn is sure to become your go-to spot for a taste of Thailand in the heart of Pt. Richmond"
