"This is the first time going to Standford's since coronavirus and since they stopped participating in Landrys club. First, I found it interesting that we were seated in the very back of the restaurant this was lunch time and the place was not busy at all, and were sat tables away from a party of about women. It's true we were feet away, but the recent updates about dining inside a restaurant is that it still could be too close since once seated, masks are not required. So it would have been better if we were sat in a completely different area since there were plenty of other tables available not so close. I understand this would make the servers walk further, but it is worth that effort. Second, I was surprised that the lunch menu consisted of choices of soup and a couple choices of sandwiches. We could have ordered off the regular menu but that would mean spending at least per person, and for lunch that is just not feasible for me. So we ended up ordering soups halfsandwich combinations. One sandwichsoup was the other The soup was a bowl and very big, and very tasty. We had the smoked salmon chowder. The sandwiches were both delicious. The price seemed high for a sandwich and soup, but it was filling.....and we split the orders ways. We did ask for an extra plate so we could share, and we were told it would cost just for the plate. We didn't ask the chef to split anything for us, we were going to split it ourselves, but still the server said they now charge crazy! So instead of paying for an empty plate, we paid for an extra cup of chowder, which came in a bowl, on a plate! So we got the plate we needed, and since there were of us eating, the third person was able to have their own chowder. The cup was very tiny though, compared to the huge bowl that came with the soup sandwich combo. We will probably not return to Stanfords since for the same money for dinner we can go to Stone Cliff and have a view"
