"Our server was not very attentive. There was another server who appeared to be more attentive to her customers. There is a woman belly dancing to 4 songs on the hour. She was dancing for tips. It was a little distracting. One song would have been cute. 4 songs was too many. We waited 45 minutes after ordering until we got our food. The service and the food were slow. But when we got the food, it was very good. Everybody ate everything on their plates. The food is worth the wait."

"What is going on Royal Taj? my last review was 3 years ago and it was a definite 5 star. But apparently not anymore. I was really happy with the indoor dining reopening post covid and we have been back 3 times now. Its a slow decline. Food quality is questionable and the cost is staggering. Watered down flavorless Tika Masala, under cooked Naan, miniature samosas, bland saag paneer. Then the for desert a $75.00 bill. Im bumming out as we were regulars and I mentioned that the food was not up to par and he seemed really uninterested. The Taj is falling. That place in Scotts Valley isnt any better. So Santa Cruz is without good Indian Food. Santa Cruz is a culinary waste land."
