"We have been to Aspen several times and have enjoyed it. This time that was not the case. We sat down for dinner and there were several items not available from the start. The excuse was "we got slammed". Poor excuse for a restaurant that has been in the business quite a while. After getting through the things not available we made choices. For three of he guests with me their choice "was" available lobster pappardelle Problem: the chef apparently also ran out of pappardelle. Next problem no one told us and just decided to make a switch and use cavatelli. No one ever came out and said that the chef ran out of that too and here is a possible substitute. The dish was less than successful with his change and in fact was not a good meal. We complained and got the same answer "we got slammed". No comment other than that. No comment as to why no one told us and not even a minor adjustment to the bill or a free after dinner drink or some token of appreciation for their mistake. Not an enjoyable night nor a chef who knew how to plan"
