"What a shame that a Denver icon like the Wazee Supper Club is closing, especially to make way for yet another upscale overpriced restaurant. For decades, the Wazee has offered delicious, high-quality pizza at a great price, and in a comfortable, casual setting. The other night we took advantage of the buy one, get one pizza deal. Needless to say, we each got one to go. Located just beyond the commercialized 16th Street Mall, the food, ambience, and service provide a reprieve from the chain restaurants that make Denver an impersonal clone of so many downtown areas. The Wazee is an original, a maverick; taking you to what used to be the seamy side of Denver. Back in the day, you threaded your way under the viaduct and stopped in for dinner and a drink before dancing the night away at Rock Island. The Wazee will be missed!"
