"Popcorn is fun! We tried the fish and chips added cole slaw. Highly recommend the fish. We split it and they brought out an extra plate. Service on the patio was excellent. We tried going again Sunday but they were closed for employee party. Good for them. We will be back again soon!"

"The restaurant has recently added a 3.5% charge to customers bills who use a debit or credit card. To avoid this fee you must pay by cash or check. So I had the waitress redo my bill that had the 3.5% fee and wrote a check that included tip in the total. I only had one customer receipt so I'm not sure how with a check they know what order it went with, what was the food total, and what was the tip for the waitress. Seems very inefficient to accept checks and process them. I am more apt to go to businesses that have the convenience of debit or credit cards without charging customers a fee. I have notified my Credit Union that more businesses are doing this and they might see a decline in debit and credit card usage. You would think a business could write the fee off as a business expense on taxes, but maybe it's not an allowable deduction, which doesn't make sense."

"The restaurant was conveniently located for us and the menu looked good. When we arrived they had no way to check a reservation and didn't have a table ready for us. It took about 15 minutes for someone to even greet our table, so we could already decide on our dinner when a server spoke to us for the first time. It then took another 25 to 30 minutes for our dinner to arrive. We had a Caesar Salad, Slider and Lobster Mac and Cheese and I wouldn't order anything more. The beer was good and it seemed a fun place. There was live music which was really good, but the whole place was so loud that it was impossible to talk to."

"Unfortunately, Ashlee didn’t listen or apologize for my concerns. Honestly, a little empathy would have made a big difference and improved my experience. An apology can go a long way. She also took my coleslaw off the table without checking with me first, even after I told her I wanted to keep it and that she could charge me for it. I had to repeat myself multiple times, which was embarrassing, especially since I chose this place over another option specifically for this outing with my daughter. I really hope they can do better because I won’t be returning for a while. It seemed like the men were treated much better, which was frustrating as well."

"A variety of food. Anyone should be able to find something here that they like. Everything I have had has been excellent! Fish tacos, the best burger, grilled fish lightly blackened, cheeseburger fries, rice bowls. We especially love the waitresses. They have become our friends. We love to see them and they take excellent care of us! The owner is wonderful as well! It's one of the best run restaurants in town! Great food! Great service!"

"First time here in a decade, and had a really great meal here. The prices at first seemed a little high, but after the food came to the table it was WELL worth it for the quality, presentation, and size. Plus the atmosphere is nice. We had the spicy chicken sandwich, and the California club. Our server was great and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, and relaxing. Even the bathrooms were really clean and smelled good that's rare for a restaurant bathroom. All around very clean and highly recommend. The side salad was also well worth a $1 upcharge. It was large and had tons of fresh veggies in it. We'll definitely be back! Parking: Parking lot with plenty of spaces and easy to navigate."

"We have been to alaro many times and usually have a great experience. We know they are slow but that is usually OK because the food is worth it. This time, they were extra slow, taking 30 minutes from ordering to getting 2/4 entrees and another 5 minutes til the last two were dropped off at our table. The food was lack-luster. A burger ordered to be cooked medium was very well done, dry and chewy. The fish tacos were very bland. It wasn’t the waitresses fault but she also seemed very busy, as many are, and didn’t notice/ask about quality."

"they have a few veganizable options here, and for that I am very grateful. for beginners they can get the hummus court or the nearby east (minus the tzatziki sauce.) as a main dish there is a veggie burger with match-Meat (an STL company,) a portobello wrap (with the aioli sauce), and a hummus veggie wrap (sans the feta.) I always get the veggie burger because I get the veggie burger because to veganize the veggieburger, they must request the gluten-free bungalow. it's pretty thick and dry, so I'm not a fan of this bungalow. they also need the chipotle mayo, which is regrettable because they have a 4-pack of just mayo vegan chipotle and garlic mayo of sam’s or costco for under $5. with this gluten-free bread and without toppings (ketchup has not cut it,) it is subduing. if I lived in stl, I would bring my own bottle of vegan mayo to help a burger. but I know again that they think about Veg*ns and offer veg-friendly options. because meat-free diets continue to become mainstream, I am sure they will further improve in this area."

"Don't go if any food allergies. If I were less than 1 star. Absolutely terrible waiting staff and management. They visited a birthday there, asked for allergies to nuts and shells, and they sighed and were asked by us. Had no information and were unclear. I would have got more information to ask the chair. When we waited to see the manager who never came, a waitress put her hands on my daughters shoulders and pushed her aside. She stumbled into a chair where we waited....A waitress overheard and said yes, I guess you don't want to send your child to the hospital with a reaction.... I don't want to do that! I answered. That was a good time to go... Eating was never so good to start. Never back to this place, not even for a drink. You don't deserve your business."

"Food was really good and hot. I had fish and chips. The waitress asked if I wanted the chips or tots, or pub chips. Pub chips are not on the menu. But I was happy she had told me because that's what I got. They had rock on the sound system and that made me happy too. I was dancing in my seat and humming along. Definitely will return."

"Good food, good drinks, slightly overpriced but that's to be expected at a resort. Host stand isn't well attended and when you arrive you may wait a while before being helped. We ate there two times during our stay and it took us 10 minutes to even be seen at the host stand both times. Everything else was excellent, but if I had to change anything, it would be a better greeting system upon arrival, and make sure there is someone there at all times. When I am paying a premium for the resort service, it's frustrating to not receive the premium level of service."

"Our go-to spot for delicious food and variety! We visited on September 16 and were once again very satisfied. We were especially impressed by our server, Brian. This young man was not only friendly but also professional and attentive. What stood out most about him was how he handled a table of seven seated next to us, who had obviously placed an extensive order but left their area in disarray as they were about to leave. We overheard Brian asking the bill-payer if everything was okay, and she responded negatively, saying, “No, why?” Brian then politely explained that he thought she might be dissatisfied because she only left him a $5 tip on a meal that exceeded $75. It seemed like he was trying to understand the situation. Unfortunately, the person who paid started to act rudely and complained about how unprofessional Brian was. In our opinion, if anyone was disrespectful, it was that table of seven. Brian was one of the best servers we've ever encountered, and it’s disappointing to see how some people expect excellent service without showing any appreciation or kindness in return."
