"We had a reservation for 4. We were seated fairly quickly but were not able to actually sit in our assigned booth the benches were too close to the table and not able to be moved. There are 3 table booths along that area. It appeared that the benches had been moved at one point, giving a large amount of space to the 1st booth, less to the 2nd, and no ability to sit at the 3rd the one we were assigned to. I am not a large person and I could not fit. So, we were re seated to a table. We spent perhaps 5 minutes at the table before we were approached by the manager who had seated us in the initial location asking why we moved. His immediate approach and assumption was that we just moved ourselves. We had to move yet again because a reservation for a larger group was made and the space was needed. That group took priority over our reservation and reseating. Obviously we did not feel very welcome, even with a reservation. The service was fine but the food especially the fries were served luke warm, making them inedible. No staff came back around to check on us. We were not asked about drink refills. Or if we wanted dessert. It felt like we were an inconvenience. I know it was a Friday evening. They were busy, but not every table or booth was occupied, so service shouldn 't have been anything out of the ordinary. This is not the typical service I 've received at this location. Perhaps it was because of the full moon??"

"Twenty years later: five full stars. I always came here when I was in college between 1996 and 2000. My wife and I were back in the area for my birthday, and I am glad to say that not only this amazing Brawpub is as great as it was over twenty years ago, it is actually even better. I had the expedition Elk Burger with Fritten, which was a hand-patterned 1/2 lb Elch Burger was perfectly cooked on my request of medium rarely. The burger tasted so good that you could have it by yourself and not complain, but it was loaded with a scinching srumptious coffee bacon jam, a really big black garlic aioli white cheddar. If they give me a bowl of coffee bacon jam, I'd probably eat it. I paired it with the Irish stout, a nitro stout that was a beautiful example of style. Very similar to Guinness, but with further forward chocolate notes. Very creamy head with silky mouth. I wanted to try another style, so I also had the real Hef'n Good. Very fruity what I really like. You can definitely taste the Hallertau Blanc hops with a piney, grassy flavor, but I also have a lot of fruity notes with bananas and citrus as quite prominent. Not sweet, but very well balanced and refreshing. Was particularly good with the frits and a good organic ketchup. My wife had a JR's Jumbo Deluxe with a fried egg, bacon and cheddar, which was also perfectly cooked on her request of a medium, with Clam Chowder and a root beer. It was also worn by the quality of the burger. The Clam-Chowder was good, but the celery in it was a little clamping. We are somehow Chowder Puristen, but so take this with a grain salt. All in all, a fantastic culinary experience. Cosy pub with a look and feeling that has not really changed in two decades, but that is not a criticism. One of my fifteen favorite restaurants everywhere."
