"I've had two dinners at Dusek's; one was great, one was a little less than meh. The food was fine. It was a pretty quiet night after the holidays, and the restaurant had only three other tables seated for most of our meal. The music was too loud for the empty room, and mostly didn't match the mood of the quiet night. Too headbangy sometimes, but whatevs. The food was fine, though not as good as I remember. The butter cake was sublime, though. But there was a gaffe. A big one. We were four for dinner and things were fine but for the bad music. After 3 starters, they came out with entrees...most entrees. Sadly, one was missing. (Thankfully, it was mine missing, which I prefer to having it happen to the birthday girl or other guests. It took more a minute to come out. IT TOOK FIVE MINUTES TO COME OUT. For five minutes, they had to choose between letting their food get cold, or eating in front of me. Unforgivable . Stupid freshman gaffe. Nor did anyone offer special apology. At minimum, a manager should have shown up. And since I'm on it, don't ask me the occasion if you don't want to say Happy Birthday, or put a candle on her slice of cake. Clumsy. Unsophisticated. That's okay at a burger joint, but not for a $300 check. (Lucky for them, I didn't pay the bill. It was me that chose the venue. I won't be back. Management should monitor the kitchen. Management should monitor the atmosphere. Manager should know when guest are dealt some pretty tacky service."

"The first time I tried to go here I had to wait for my sister to come back from a woodworking class where she built some sort of stool. She ended up staining the stool in our living room and it made the smell so strong. She said she was gonna be baxk around noon so we can go but she ended up getting back at like 130! When we got there, the kitchen literally closed after the person in front of us order. So in unlucky!! Ended up getting a coffee and a pasty but I can’t remember what it was like. So fast forward a month or so we went here again but this time left early enough around 11 to actually make it in time. First though we went to the sidecar donut shop and we thought it was closed and was shocked! But it turns out the door was heavy and we weee able to go in. Then we went to traders joe to get some ingredients but there wasn’t a way to buy a single carrot so we decided to go to alfies later instead. Once we finally get to pinwheel we were waiting in line and struggled to read the menu because my vision is kinda bad and I should consider getting lasik. The only hesitation I have is that it seems scary and I am a bit of a chicken with things going into my eyes. I was struggling on deciding behind choosing between three sandwiches of the Parisian, the Marius and Brie. Parisian seemed good but it was only ham and butter and this was the last day before my diet and I didn’t want to waste it. The Marius seemed interesting but I saw that there was olives inside but I kinda wanted tuna. The Brie also looked good but I was worried my gf was going to yell at me for eating so much cheese since my face was sensitive and it’s causing me pimples. Like there was one week where I was eating lasagna and pizza a lot and then my face started breaking out which I got in trouble for. In the ended up choosing Brie and pretended it wasn’t cheese but she noticed and said she Wander bros me and can’t blame her for it. I also saw a little puppy next to us that only wanted to lick a bluebery and didn’t actually eat. Haha what a lil dummy"

"I had low expectations for this cafe thinking that the food/drinks won't taste good and will just look pretty but I was proven wrong. The price is pretty good too! There are two separate lines one for the cafe regular menu and one for their Bow Room.Their Bow Room serves afternoon tea and cocktails and requires a reservation. You can attempt walk ins but it's based on availability. The store is very cute obviously and you get to see how they make their mini doughnuts when you're waiting in line. The food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time.Lemon Mini Doughnuts $8 : The mini doughnuts were super fresh and delicious! They do have a lot of sugar sprinkled on top but they do clump up so you can remove some. I thought the lemon flavor would be sour but it was actually nice and light. I would get this again and recommend it over the drinks.Passion Fruit Iced Tea $5 : You can choose between green or black tea. My husband opted for the green tea. He added popping boba which went well with this drink. The passion fruit flavor was perfect not too sweet/sour and doesn't have an artificial taste. His tea was better than my strawberry dream smoothie.Strawberry Dream Smoothie $6 : We asked for a non dairy alternative milk almond or oats which I think is the reason why this smoothie didn't taste as good as I thought it would. The yogurt's sourness was the prominent taste. I think they use real strawberries for this smoothie but they didn't add any sweetness. Overall the drink was okay.Definitely want to come back to check out the Bow Room :"

"We arrived and had a drink at the bar, they don’t carry grey goose (even though the bartender says they are constantly asked for it and agreed they should have it) but the cocktail I had was delicious and the bartenders were very friendly we enjoyed that. We finished our drinks and sat for dinner. This was where things went bad. We ordered wine from a menu of unknown bottles. The red was great but the white bottle was disgusting to the point of not being drinkable. We refused the bottle initially when poured for tasting but the manager came over to arrogantly tell us that we own that bottle and are unable to refuse it. We let him know that we planned on buying other bottles and this one was unanimously not a good wine. He again refused and said that they wouldn’t be able to accommodate our request. Ok. I drank the red instead and my friend unsuccessfully tried to drink the $80 bottle of white. We’ve never turned back a wine and this wasn’t just bad it was disgusting. Acidic and bitter, could have been the bottle but he wasn’t hearing it either way. We decided to make the best of the night and ordered a few appetizers. The oysters came and our request for cocktail sauce was denied bc they don’t serve that but adding that they get that request a lot also. The grilled octopus was tough but the mushrooms tartlets were decent. Our dinners arrived next. The short ribs were smoky in flavor as described but absolutely tasteless otherwise. I honestly could have been eating firewood it was that smoky. The squid ink pasta was terrible, our friend said it was practically inedible and the strip-loin ok but nothing special. I’d like to add that the waitress was a doll and we even laughed that we would love to get her a job at another restaurant bc as great as she was we would not be returning to this restaurant. Overall the experience lacked everything that makes a restaurant desirable and enjoyable. Don’t waste your time or money."
