"Despite the mix-up, we were able to secure a table at the bar, even with the restaurant being fully booked. The venue itself is gorgeous, and the view from our cozy table was delightful. Our server was exceptional and attentive, which certainly eased the frustrations caused by the previous misinformation.
For our appetizer, we ordered the daily special: white truffles that had been flown in from Italy just two days earlier. They were served atop a bed of linguine with butter and parmesan. The truffles were exquisite, but I found there was an overwhelming amount of butter on the pasta; it was practically swimming in it, which overshadowed the lovely aroma and flavor of the truffles. Given the dish's hefty price tag of $135, this was a bit disappointing.
The remainder of the food was outstanding. I ordered the Alaskan halibut, which the menu described as having a "crispy" coating; however, it didn’t possess that crispiness at all. I generally enjoy a crispy coating on fish or seafood, but I found the fish itself to be light and flavorful, so I was overall satisfied.
In conclusion, it was a lovely meal with excellent service in a beautiful setting. However, the minor issues I encountered led me to lower my rating from five stars to four. We would certainly return, especially since it’s one of the restaurants at the hotel."
