"GOURMET INDIA!!!! The name of this restaurant says it all. Tucked away in this quiet little mall area off of Westheimer and hwy 6 is this near fine dining restaurant. The interior features a relaxing and formal setting with formal cloths and table settings and calming music to set the mood. The service is friendly and professional. We were seated quickly and our beverages brought to our table within a few minutes. We inspected the 20 plus item buffet and decided upon that. Each item had its unique indian cuisine presentation and flavor. Mmmm....my mouth is still watering! The fresh soft tortilla type bread was AMAZING and I dipped it in almost ech dish I sampled. The $13 lunch buffet was inexpensive for what you can eat. You just have to experience this place."

"Five of us ate here: 3 adults and 2 kids and we shared everything one dish was so good we ordered two plus multiple orders of different types of naan. Food is great and the service was really great and waiters very attentive. We have been here before and will definitely keep going back."

"One of the newer Indian joints in the heart of San Mateo downtown. They do have great vegetarian options. The Hara Bhara kebab was slightly crispy and was a good combination with the chutneys. Our favourite was Akbari Paneer- smooth, creamy and the right amount of smokiness. Since they are a new restaurant, they are experimenting with different items so do ask for dishes (chef special) that may not be on the wall menu inside the restaurant. Their gulab jamun with sprinkled pistachios is also amazing. All this combined with friendly service made for a nice evening out."

"The second we walked in the door I knew we were in for a good meal. The incredible aroma and decor were undeniable. The staff was friendly and responsive. The food was incredible. Everything was spiced reasonably. We ordered a variety of dishes and went a'la cart. The Saag Paneer was incredible. The Malai Kofta was on point. The rice, naan, veggie korma and all the sides were delicious. The highlight of our Houston trip. We have added this to a our rotation for every time we come to town."

"Wish I had saved my money and gone elsewhere instead! We walked in and were met by a guy at the bar who didn't know what they had on their list. He kept going back to the displayed list to figure out the composition of each drink that was ordered. Anyway the drinks arrived and all three were terrible : overly syrupy sweet and zero complexity. While we waited to finish our drinks, we watched in surprise as the faces behind the bar kept changing in a constant stream. It's almost like anyone could walk in and just pour you a drink. Definitely staying away."
