"We have been going to Melting Pot restaurants since 1998 in Richmond Va. and made to the two in St. Louis. And now we go to the one in Red Bank NJ. In general, it has lost its appeal to us over the years. The portion sizes have gone down and the pricing as gone up. The California salad is a quarter of the size it used to be. They used to offer lots more vegetables with both the cheese and main course and those were refillable. I think they still do offer additional veggies, but you start off with a lot less. You used to get what felt like a half a loaf of bread with the cheese course, last night we got what looked like half of one bagel sliced up. For dessert, you used to get cheesecake and pineapple. All the fruit was refillable too. Today, no pineapple and cheesecake is extra. The menu is a little confusing too, it lists prices individually, but you have to order for two, but there is an off menu option for a single person. Very Confusing. The service in terms of personality and showmanship is great, no complaints, but Red Bank is very understaffed and our dinner took an extra hour because of it. Getting our initial order in and time between courses was much longer than needed. I do not think we will going back any time soon. It is just too expensive for what you get these days."
