"I ordered take-out from Pho Kup and I highly discourage anyone from eating there. Their approach to customer service and satisfaction is extremely poor. Instead of treating customers with the idea that they are always right, the staff acts as if the customers are always at fault.
I have specific dietary restrictions—my doctor has advised me to avoid oil and animal products. I clearly communicated my needs when placing my order, insisting that there be NO OIL in any ingredients or preparation, and I also asked for raw tofu instead of fried for my meal. However, when I took my order to a lunch meeting, I discovered that I had received fried tofu instead of raw, leaving me without the option to return and fix the order or order something else oil-free. It would have been unreasonable to wait until my meeting was over to go back to the restaurant.
I tried to eat what I could, but the meal was ruined. After my meeting, I went back to Pho Kup with the fried tofu to express my disappointment and give them a chance to rectify the situation. I felt that a refund was reasonable. However, they refused to issue a refund and would not provide me with the correct meal with raw tofu. The manager told me it was MY FAULT that I had eaten the incorrect meal without the tofu.
As a senior nearing 70, I felt disrespected, as if they thought I was trying to take advantage of them. There is no expectation of customer satisfaction at Pho Kup. I regret leaving a tip when I paid for my meal and I know I will never return."
