"Upon our arrival, we were informed that we could sit at the back and would have to wait because the staff was short-staffed. There were only two two-top tables occupied, and the bar was empty. After waiting patiently for about 10 minutes, the server returned, complaining about our party size. We explained that we had confirmed with management earlier in the day. When we mentioned we called at noon, she dismissed us, saying "that's why... we can’t get help in that fast."
Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the server's attitude was off-putting. She then asked to take our drink orders while still displaying significant attitude. We mentioned that we were splitting the bill, to which she reacted by throwing her hands down and saying, "you can’t do this to me." We had already discussed our plans with the manager, Evan, who assured us there wouldn’t be any issues. When she said our orders would come out at different times, we acknowledged that and said it was fine.
However, she then insisted we would have to wait because she had other tables to attend to. At that point, I decided to leave. My family remained behind, telling her that she didn’t need to have such an attitude, as we were just trying to make my grandson's night special. I eventually returned, seeing that nothing had improved, and said it was time to leave—I refused to allow her to serve me. We all got up and walked out.
We ended up at Chickie and Pete's, and it was the perfect experience we had been hoping for. It's a shame that our original venue had such poor service. No wonder there were only two tables occupied—nobody wants to deal with an attitude like that when dining out."
