"I recommend the $95/pp weekend brunch buffet if you want quantity, with an emphasis on seafood, and a beautiful 2nd floor view of Rittenhouse Park. We came to the weekend brunch for my mom's birthday. We enjoyed our meal (the seafood and desserts in particular), but nothing wowed us despite the hefty price tag (total came to $365 with automatic 20% gratuity and 8% tax). Everything is a buffet except for the entree, which you order from the server a la carte my partner ordered the lobster, my mom the fish, and I the duck. Duck was cooked well but was way too fatty. The benefit of the buffet is that they serve a LOT of dishes, and there's a whole table dedicated to seafood and desserts. We enjoyed the caviar, lox, and crab legs. The dessert table was also truly impressive with 12+ types of desserts to choose from. But only ~4 5 of them were truly delicious, and the other desserts were quite bland and lacking. Service was attentive and excellent. Ambiance and view were lovely, but the restaurant is extremely narrow, which made navigation through the buffet difficult. The rest of the hotel was honestly quite drab and empty over the holiday, and I was surprised to learn that it has 5 stars. Tip: all non alcoholic drinks are included in the price of the buffet. Alcoholic drinks are extra. Would we go back again? Probably not. $365 is a lot, and we can get higher quality tasty food elsewhere although we wouldn't have such a lovely view, and they may not be as plentiful."

"I made reservations at LaRue Elm for a party of 9 for a birthday brunch. The reservations process was very simple and the hosts were easy to work with and they were able to get us in easily. We went in on Saturday before Mother's day and unfortunately they did not tell us that they would be serving a limited Monther's day menu on Saturday as well but that was no big deal. We were able to sit right down and the server was attentive at first, coming in and checking on us and getting everyone drinks. We were waiting on one latecomer who arrived 15 minutes after our reservation time but by the time they arrived the server was no where to be found and this was the case for the rest of the meal. He finally returned and took our order but was very snippy to multiple guests in our party who had simple kitchen requests such as an extra hard poached egg and regular bacon on their sandwich as opposed to Canadian bacon. We finally received our food nearly 35 minutes later which seemed much longer because every time we asked for a coffee or mimosa refill it took ages for our server to return which was a little strange being that we didn't see but two other tables in the entire restaurant. Luckily there was a sweet gentleman who I think was a manager who began helping our original server. The food was fine, some plates better than others. I personally had the chicken and waffles and my chicken was over cooked and dry and my waffle was drenched in syrup and soggy by the time I got it but my friend got the eggs Benedict and I had a bite and it was delicious. We had to ask multiple times for salt pepper, drink refills a to go box and finally the checks. Overall it was a disappointing meal especially being that it was a special occasion and the prices defiantly aren't cheap."
