"On a brighter note, the oysters were quite good, and the East Coast-style prawn pot I ordered was fantastic. The prawns were plump and cooked perfectly, accompanied by two hearty pieces of bread that soaked up the delicious sauce wonderfully.
The service left something to be desired. While everyone was very friendly, my oysters were initially forgotten. On the plus side, I was compensated by receiving the three most expensive ones for free. However, my drink had to be sent back twice, and the replacement was still underwhelming. Considering the restaurant's small size and the fact that it wasn't very busy, it was particularly disappointing that I had two servers who seemed unable to manage the situation effectively. One of them appeared overwhelmed, which struck me as odd given the low customer count, leading to more frustration than sympathy on my part.
Interestingly, the restaurant includes a mandatory tip to ensure employees receive a livable wage, which is a concept I support in theory. However, given the subpar service I received, I didn’t feel comfortable paying a gratuity that didn’t reflect the level of service I experienced. I would have preferred if gratuity were not included at all, with the costs instead incorporated into the menu prices, as that would have felt less like a forced charge."
