"I won’t pretend otherwise—the food was actually good. However, I was taken aback by the 15% charge labeled “for cooking your food to perfection” and a $2.93 fee for using cash. Additionally, the server didn’t want to bring me the bill after I paid; instead, she handed me a blank bill for a tip. When she called the manager, he claimed he wasn’t in charge and was just there dealing with the computer. In the end, he said the owner wasn’t available, so there was nothing he could do. What frustrated me the most was that there was no percentage listed on the menu—check my pictures for more context. I would consider returning, but their lack of empathy and the way I was made to feel guilty, along with them not taking responsibility for their mistakes, makes me hesitant to recommend this place. They charged almost $10 for nothing, which is unacceptable."

"Been here before, so this was the second time round and the food/service is consistent! Service is impeccable, good hard working folks here with no attitudes. We made sure to tip generously due to the quality service. Food: ordered the chimichanga especial. It was awesome, generous portions and well seasoned dish! Highly recommend and will continue to repeat!"

"Absolutely amazing food. I have only been a few times, and each time has been perfect. I have only gotten take out, never eaten inside. I have worked all over San Antonio and tried many different Mexican restaurants and drive thru’s. There’s a term I use to describe Mexican food, based on its quality and how it’s prepared, and that term I use is the word ‘sloppy’. (NOT the term I’d use for Las Barcas). Lots of Mexican restaurants have drive thru’s, and often times the meal is placed ‘sloppily’ into the Togo containers, no care for its preparation. Sloppy beans, sloppy layout in the Togo container. At Las Barcas however, the food was laid out beautifully in the container, and was clearly put together with love. It was a meal you could drive all the way home with and fully enjoy once you get there, and feel like it was prepared politely just for you. Beyond the great service and preparation, it tastes incredible. The steak fajita meat seems quality, not gross cheap meat. I got the beef fajita burrito con queso. Even the inside of the burrito was not ‘sloppy’. It was clearly made to order and I could not be happier. There was legitimate care put into the $20 I spent, and they’ve won me as repeat customer. Please don’t sleep on this place. Give them your business if you haven’t already! They’re sweet on the phone, they’re sweet in person! Go there!"

"This review only gets 2 stars because the waitress did really good, while training someone new. The food was beyond terrible. I think their cooking style is to appease a bunch of white people that wouldn 't know real Mexican people is it jump up and bit them. The food wasn 't seasoned at all, the steak was overcooked, and I 'm fairly certain their red burrito sauce was just canned sweet tomato sauce. Other than appearance, nothing about this food was real or authentic Mexican food. Save your money, Taco Bell has better Mexican food than this place."

"This place is quick and mildly inexpensive for the amount you get. They create your order starting the moment you hang up if you call it in, so be prepared for pick up in 20ish minutes or have cold food. They have a drive through window you can pick up from. They overcook the steak in the fajitas a little bit, but it is not bad. Things can be a little greasy, so have those tums handy."

"This restaurant was truly fantastic! I can't recommend it enough! The margarita we had was amazing—strong enough that we only needed one (I’m from Wisconsin, and we definitely enjoy our drinks, so we’re no lightweights!). I ordered the signature fajitas with three types of meat, while my companion chose the steak and chicken fajitas. Both options were delicious and far more food than we could manage! As a big guy who loves to eat, it’s rare for me to say we could have easily shared a platter of fajitas. This place is definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants we’ve ever visited!"

"It?s a phoenix staple I lovely semi hidden breakfast joint with affordable meals not super cheap but not expensive either I had ordered the steak Ranchero and it tasted better than I had expected. The beans were not bland the salsa on the side was flavorful the steak was a bit chewy but the tortillas were perfectly warm and just how they should be for an authentic Mexican breakfast. I liked the lemonade and the waitress was friendly as well as patient sitting near the doorways is a bit chilly even when the doors closed they have homemade desserts to purchase on your way out I had grabbed a brownie and it was pretty tasty I?m usually not a fan of chocolate too much but it was just right; definitely a place to take your family"

"Maybe it was an off night...but we have been looking for a place to make our go-to for Mexican food and had high hopes. Was not busy but the server was distracted and not helpful with our first-timer questions. I ended up with a dish I couldnt eat (after asking to order something sans tomatoes) still got tomato sauce. But by the time she came back to check everyone else was practically done with their dishes. Took it for a lunch for the hubby.The beans were pretty good, and I'd probably just order a bean chalupa if friends wanted to go here. The rest of the dishes ordered were just so-so. Meat was bland and rice dry. Maybe an off day? It would take some major convincing for me to go find out."

"I normally love the food here. However today was one of the worst experiences I’ve had ever. We come in and get told to sit anywhere, then don’t get acknowledged again until 20 minutes later. She took our drink order and disappeared for another 10 minutes, brought our drinks and then left without straws. When we finally got our food, it wasn’t cooked right, running with oil, and for some reason my steak tacos tasted like garlic powder."

"I've been seeing the birria taco all over social media and really wanted to see what all the fuss is about. So I did a search in East Nashville and found this cozy, hole-in-the-wall restaurant and decided to give them a try. When I showed up today, the parking lot was packed and the restaurant full (I got mine to go . I was immediately greeted by a very friendly gentleman and my order was taken within minutes. I was then given my hot, out of the fryer tacos to go within 15 minutes. All of that was great. And as I stood by the door waiting for my food, I observed other diners in the establishment. They were all very happy and their tables were full of all different types of entrees, including many birria tacos. Obviously, folks are a fan of these at this restaurant. However, I am not a fan of this particular taco. The cook here made mine the authentic way, I'm pretty darn sure. It was deep-fried, meaty cheesy, deliciousness, if you're into that kind of thing. For me, I felt like I had gone out all night long on a bender and had stopped at a greasy spoon Diner to pick up the greasiest menu item to ward off the impending hangover I knew I was going to have (no, I have not been hitting the bottle today. That's how these tacos tasted to me. And that liquid that came with the order that I dipped my tacos into was off the charts greasy...but good. I just couldn't get down with it after 2. I gave up on the third one and just ate the beef out of the inside. It was rather yummy, moist and flavorful, and while I'm not necessarily still hungry, I'm not necessarily full. I may have to eat a small salad to compensate for all that grease. Anyway, if you're into these types of tacos, do come here and try them. I am sure mine were made very well and will be what you're expecting. I'm going to come back here at a time they're less busy and order something a little healthier. Hey, at least I tried. Note: do not try to park in their parking lot if they're super crowded because it is a nightmare trying to get out. Just grab street parking."

"I have been here a total of 3 times and I officially will never be back.There was a ROACH crawling up the wall at our table.We get the waitress and let her know..she has the nerve to say do u wanna cash out so we can clean your area girl whattt? Cash out?? So we asked to speak to the manager... She goes in back, I guess telling everyone cause then everyone out kitchen starts looking out way. 4 minutes later, a manager emerges. We tell her we feel we shouldn 't have to pay given a roach was at our table. She has the nerve to say, did y 'all eat any food as if that matters! Will never be back after last night. "I recently visited a charming restaurant located next to a gas station. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was exactly what you would hope for in a cozy Mexican eatery. The fajitas were generously seasoned and satisfyingly large. The mole was absolutely fantastic. It was definitely worth the journey. The huarache was thinner than other places I've tried, but still packed with flavor, making it easier to wash down with a drink."

"I ordered a combo burrito, and it was decent—nothing particularly exciting. I ended up smothering it in salsa to enhance the flavor; unfortunately, it was served lukewarm. My husband, being from the area, definitely felt a wave of nostalgia while we were there. Our daughter and her friends opted for French fries with ranch dressing for dipping. I overheard one of them say, “These fries are legit 10 out of 10.” The three teenage girls polished off three orders, so it seems like the fries are a must-try for our next visit! I plan to eat there again when we’re back in town for Friday Night Lights. I recommend giving Don Juan's a try—it’s definitely better than Bell!"
