"However, today was a completely different experience. When we arrived, there were a few people ahead of us. We placed our order for three sandwiches and a fry and paid. While my daughter filled her cup from the fountain drink machine, we took a seat. Her order was called first, and the same woman who had caught my attention before brought it to our table.
I was sitting on the end seat, and my daughter was against the wall next to me. Instead of handing the food to my daughter where there was plenty of room, this employee chose to reach in front of my face, barely inches away from my arms. As she extended her arm, two droplets of sweat fell from her arm onto my forearm. When she retracted her arm, she accidentally smeared that sweat down my arm, and I immediately felt nauseous.
I rushed to the bathroom but had to turn back when I saw someone entering. My fiancé called after me to grab a paper towel, but I could barely focus as I gagged the whole way out. I finally made it to my car, where I was sick more violently than I have been in a long time, with strangers staring at me. Not only was my personal space invaded, but I felt utterly humiliated.
Once I calmed down, I called the restaurant and spoke to the assistant manager, who struggled to understand the situation. My family and I walked around Target to settle my stomach. I bought my food at 11:32 AM, and now it’s 1:27 PM as I write this, and I'm still feeling ill. I won’t be eating my meal today—I'm disgusted.
The general manager later returned my call since the assistant manager didn't grasp the gravity of what happened. All they did to address my traumatic experience was refund my meal. The manager then mentioned that the restaurant is closing tomorrow, which felt like a "too bad, there’s nothing else we can do" situation.
This was by far the worst place I've ever eaten—not because of the food itself but due to the lack of hygiene with the employees. It makes me question how much of that employee's sweat may have contaminated the food. Management could certainly improve in this regard.
Update (11/29/22): I still haven’t received my “refund.” I’ve called Katie twice about it, but nothing has been resolved. I gave the bank extra time since it was a Friday, but still no update. It’s frustrating, Which Wich—thank you for nothing!"
