"I have been visiting this restaurant quite frequently lately. While some of the chefs could benefit from honing their skills, I genuinely enjoy the cozy ambiance, highlighted by the fireplace and the flickering candles. Most of the food is tasty, although I would prefer smaller portions of carbohydrates offered at a lower price, especially in light of the increasing concerns over obesity and diabetes. I think more restaurants should consider having a diabetic-friendly menu. The staff is friendly and efficient. I found the smothered chicken delicious, but the portion was too large for me; I would have preferred a smaller piece with the toppings. The green beans were delightful. My friend enjoyed the chicken Alfredo, but noted that it had an excessive amount of chicken and carbs. The salad was quite basic, consisting only of lettuce, onion, and tomato. Since I don't like raw onion, I recommend that it be finely chopped. I appreciate that they offer avocado, but it shouldn't come with an extra charge. Cucumber would be a nice alternative to onion. Another friend ordered the taco salad, which was good but had an unnecessarily large shell. It would be helpful to have non-spicy choices, such as mild salsa. I found the meatloaf to be too spicy for my taste, and it would be beneficial if this were indicated on the menu for those sensitive to spice. The exterior was overcooked, and the ketchup would be better if it were caramelized during baking. The beef brisket was excellent, although the au jus was occasionally too salty. The breakfast options are good, but they come with too many potatoes for those on a low-carb diet. While the home fries are delicious, it's easy to overeat them. The sweet potatoes I had on one occasion were overcooked and didn’t have their usual color. I do appreciate that they offer honey mustard sauce. However, the corned beef hash was too salty for my liking. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was mixed."

"We gave it a shot despite terrible reviews regarding service. We shouldn't have. We are not the type of people to complain as we've both been in the service industry before and completely understand how crazy things can get sometimes but this was ridiculous. We arrived to a hostess noneager to seat several couples who were standing in line all who had reservations...so we sat at the bar, ordered a drink and told the bartender about our reservation. Enough time passed for us to order an appetizer and have it delivered before we finally asked the manager for an update on our table. He admitted that he'd completely forgotten about us, and then sat us minutes after our reservation time. Still, we were happy to finally be at a table, and were ready to order, but were unable to do so because the manager apparently neglected to assign any of his limited wait staff to our table. We asked a server in passing if we could give her our order, but she simply said, Ummmm who's your server? and basically told us no. The bartender then had to leave the bar to come take our drink order, and the manager ended up taking our food order, but by that time, we'd felt completely neglected and ignored. Even with all of this, we remained polite and understanding...until our food came out a half hour later...and it was cold. We hated to have to report yet another messup on their end, but it clearly didn't phase them, because the server we told in passing again didn't offer to do anything about it. She didn't even offer to warm it up. I don't know if this was a result of poor training, being understaffed, or just a plain lack of consideration for their guests...but this was an awful experience, and we will not be back"
