"Everything was delicious! But, my goodness the attention the staff paid was just the best. We had a reservation and ended up having to wait 15-20 minutes for our table, and they comped us a round of drinks for the inconvenience. Thank you for taking care of us! And, the live jazz on Saturday night was amazing!"

"Lovely, classy spot in Old Edward’s Inn. Service was excellent as was the food. Trout dip pimiento cheese came served with delicious and different homemade crackers. Tomato bisque was perfect on a cool day. Chicken wing special was over the top. Wings were cooked in duck fat and served with whipped blue cheese dip and veggies. Make a reservation during high season"

"I have a mixed review...the food was very good but there was a lack of understanding by the bartender on how to fix a drink. I got a martini glass with one sot of room temperature vodka and black olives in it...yes, black olives. A far cry from Vodka up with olives which should be a full martini glass with vodka that has been shaken over ice. and green olives added. The server was very helpful and it took at least 4 trips to the bar to get drinks right. The bartender couldn't even come up with a suggestion for a fruity, sweet drink for one of us when they couldn't decide on what they wanted. Again the food Surf turf, salmon and lobster tail were excellent. The chairs are way too heavy and tough to sit on since they are not made to contour to a body. Very straight up. Also very close to the next table and too heavy to pull out for ease of getting in and out of the table. I'm glad we went, but we won't be back. At that price point, they still have many things to work out to make it worth going back."

"Our group of five, all from out of town and ethnically diverse, had a disappointing experience at High Cotton. While the she-crab soup and appetizers were promising, the meal took a turn quickly. The swordfish, which our waitress recommended as the catch of the day, was dry and overcooked. We would have addressed this if given the chance, but our waitress didn’t return to check on us in a timely manner. We were also disheartened by the service from the lead manager, an older gentleman with slicked-back blonde hair. He barely acknowledged our table and was noticeably more attentive to a large group of older white diners nearby. This disparity in service made us feel neglected and undervalued. For a meal costing $100 per head, we expected a far superior experience. Our visit fell short of the high standards we anticipated, and we hope High Cotton takes this feedback seriously to ensure all guests (regardless of their background) receive equal and respectful service."

"Meal Type: Dinner Price per Person: $50–100 Food: ★★★★★ Service: ★★★★★ Atmosphere: ★★★★★ If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is absolutely outstanding, with a perfect five-star rating. The standout dishes include the delightful Bones on Toast and the exquisite 8oz Creekstone Farms Prime Filet Mignon, both of which are a must-try. The service was equally impressive, providing attentive and friendly staff who enhanced our evening. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place for a memorable dinner. Overall, this restaurant exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return!"

"Fantastic dinner with beyond excellent service from Kevin and Diego. We had three apps: steak bruschetta, Who Dat shrimp, and the crab cake. The tomatoes on the bruschetta were a bit bitter but the rest were awesome, especially the crab cake. Lobster bisque and French onion soup were awesome. The lamb chops are absolutely the best I have ever had. The flaming mojito glaze that tops the lamb chops makes for quite a presentation and is delicious. Desserts, peanut butter pie and crepe brûlée were delicious. We were allowed to have an unhurried meal of superb food accompanied by the best service."

"Both salads—the house salad and the Caesar—were delicious, though they were quite standard in flavor. The prime tenderloin was cooked to perfection with a pleasing peppered and salted crust, accompanied by pickled red wine reduction onions and béarnaise sauce. The lobster risotto, while perfectly prepared, had an overpowering seafood taste, and the white wine in it wasn't reduced enough. On the other hand, the lobster mac and cheese was rich and delightful. The crème brûlée was decent, but nothing exceptional. Overall, this steakhouse is definitely worth a visit if you're in Waco!"

"I love the food here! The atmosphere is not really my thing (kind of bougie) but the food is fantastic. The guacamole they make at your table is the best I have ever had (be sure to tip the person who makes it). I also got the ahi caesar salad which is my favorite thing on the menu. The ahi has such great cajun flavor. It's amazing. The service has always been good. I have always sat in the bar (first come/first served tables). Kind of pricey but the food is definitely worth it!"

"We had the 7 course tasting menu , we asked to use the wine cellar room .. but we were only 2. They obliged and we had a great time. The wine paring only works if you have 4 people .. but we had the sommelier help choose our wine and the chef introduced each dish. The room is quiet , can be completely isolated with blinds. The restaurant is in their market and it sits within a gated marina. Great experience , local PR food but elevated. This was a gourmet meal. Expect to spend 3 hours for dinner which was fine for us since we were celebrating our 35th anniversary. 5 stars. Luda the manager served us and Rafi was the chef."

"a positive experience. my man had garnel, which were very good, and I had the brisket with senfsauce, which was absolutely phenomenal! melt in the mouth and the sose was so tasteful. one of the top dishes I've ever had. we also ordered the scallop appetizer, the scallops were well cooked, but a little small, but it had large pieces of booze and a large smokey apple sauce on the plate. service was a bit slow to start, we sat about 15-20 minutes without anyone coming to say hello or drinking order. also the free brot was cold and hard and lubricated by raw flour. some up and down, but I would wait much longer than 20 minutes to have this braut again!"

"This was my first time at this restaurant. They seated us in the Louis V area without us having to ask, which we appreciated. We were happy to learn that 10% of the proceeds from this area are donated to animal charities. Overall, our experience was positive, although the main courses did take a bit longer to arrive, but we understood that they were busy. One suggestion would be to inquire about the cooking temperature of the salmon before ordering. Thank you for the wonderful experience, we will definitely be back."

"My family and I have dined many times at Gabi James, and we always return because their commitment to excellent is always consistent. This last time, we had a great brunch meal, Lee was our server and took excellent care of us, and I especially appreciated other team members and their kind attention as well. Always an experience filled with joy and pleasure, thank you!"

"I honestly believe this was the best pork chop I've ever tasted. It was moist juicy, just perfect. The potatoes au gratin that were served with it were so good that, had they let me, I would have gone into the kitchen for another helping. Though what I thought was corn rice casserole turned out to be only loose fried rice mixed with some corn kernels. Still good but not what I was expecting. Although I was totally full, I couldn't pass up the banana pudding, which was just like how Mom made her's except she added meringue on top. My wife had the white chocolate bread pudding which she reluctantly allowed me a sample. She wanted to save it all for herself. Both were very good. No, they were even better than that! Both desserts were excellent! All in all, I really enjoyed my meal, same as my wife. If cleaning my plate was any indication of how much I enjoyed my visit, then it was obvious I rated Rick's on the Square five stars!"

"My friends and I went out to Koen for the first time last night and it was the BEST dining experience so far. There were three of us, so we ordered the Samurai course. The appetizers were delicious and plentiful. The Samurai comes with several appetizers, but we also ordered the fried gyoza (very yummy! . We ate all the appetizers and they did their job by building an appetite, so we had plenty if room for the main course. Our server then turned on the grill and showed us (not told us how to use it so we could fully enjoy the experience. The grilling was probably the most fun. You have full control over how long your meats are cooked for. The Samurai comes with plenty of delicious meats, but we also ordered sliced short rib (definitely recommend! . The overall experience of the grilling makes the trip far more worth it. Then, after we were done with the main course, our server brought us tempura ice cream for dessert (also included in the Samurai package . We honestly didn't expect the large portion size we were given, so we were excited when he brought it out. It was TO DIE FOR!! All-in-all, you should definitely consider going to Koen with some friends or a date. The experience will definitely leave you wanting to come back (I'm checking with my friends on when we'll go next, lol . I will say, if you want to go on a night like Friday or Saturday, make a reservation. It was so busy last night that even with a reservation, we had to wait 30 minutes. We didn't mind, tho, because the food and experience didn't disappoint. Also, make sure you're planning to spend some because an experience as good as this won't be super cheap. If splitting with friends, expect to be paying between 30- 50 with tip (depends on what you order and how many friends you're dining with . Totally worth it, tho!!"

"The inside needs a bit of an update. The waitress was nice but kept getting things wrong and would forgot to bring things that we asked for. The prime rib was okay a bit on the dry side and the mashed potatoes were cold, I asked for them to be fixed and they brought out a new plate of mashed potatoes that were still cold. They ended up removing under from my bill. I will say though that the kids cheeseburger was pretty good when I had a bite off my sons order. If I for some reason we’re to ever go back I would order the cheeseburger. For the price we paid I felt the food should have reflected it"

"Although the food and our server were excellent my overall first impression of Mimmo’s is just okay. My mother in law wanted to come here for Mother’s Day so I went ahead and made a reservation. They didn’t advertise a limited menu for Mother’s Day so we were upset they didn’t have anything we actually wanted to order. We wanted the crab and artichoke dip to start and it wasn’t on the menu. We wanted the Chicken Toscana, my teenage nephew and niece had a hard time picking out meals because we also came to order pizzas which were not offered! My mother in law ordered the stuffed shrimp scampi and she said it came out cold after it took a long time for our food to come out. By the time her food was remade our table was done eating and she was the one we were celebrating!! Our reservation was at 2:30p and when we arrived no one was in the foyer to greet us. From there the server was great but the food service was slow. I understand it was Mother’s Day and expected to be busy but we waited so long for a limited pasta menu just to have one of our meals come out cold. At 2:30p it seemed like a Friday night would be more chaotic as it didnt seem too chaotic in the afternoon, just filled with people all waiting for food. It seemed as though they were ill prepared for Mother’s Day. I’m disappointed there wasn’t a manager that came around to greet tables. I’m also upset they didnt comp my MILs meal since she did t get to enjoy. I thought the food was good once it finally came out but I would just rather go to like a chain restaurant such as Texas Roadhouse or even Buca di Beppo they know how to pump out the food quick, provide service on busy holidays and it’s always consistent and good. I’m sorry mom and pop restaurant, we tried you for Mother’s Day and it just wasn’t a great 1st impression for me. I’d love to come back for a lunch on the patio with less pressure to please my mother in law! The drink I had was delicious and I’m still curious to try the pizza!"

"OMG... never again. I was so hyped about this place, thinking YES a Cajun restaurant, with crawfish and oysters,i was super stoked about trying it, its something Ive wanted to try for a very long time, so me and my girlfriend went, the waitress was really nice, but the food was lame and bland, i ordered the gator bites and baked oysters for the appetizer, they was good, oysters tasted a little old, for our meal i got the Boiled Seafood Platter, she got the Cajun Mex, i order this platter thinking im going to get some spicy Cajun food, WRONG, it was bland, the corn on the cob and the crab was the best part of it and even they wasn't really up to par, the whole platter was cold, not like...read more"

"The food at Toro was excellent. I had the Havana Roll and the Rainbow Tropical Roll and both were excellent. I also had their heirloom tomato and burrata saladâ very good. My father ordered the wedge salad scallops and Pork belly entree which he enjoyed quite a bit. It was very very loud inside the restaurant so we found our conversation overpowered by the ambient noise level. When we asked if we could move outside they said they were not able to accommodate due to the incoming reservations specifically requesting outside tables. However, throughout the entirety of our meal there were several open, unseated, tables outside. Toro would be a great choice for a large, energetic party. I would not recommend it if youâre wanting an intimate dining experience."

"I was seated at the bar, and the bartender promptly brought me a glass of water while I looked over the menu. I decided on a 16oz New York Strip Steak, truffle fries, and a Strawberry Lemon Drop to drink. I also requested some bread. The food was outstanding—the steak was cooked to medium rare, just how I like it. I particularly appreciated that it wasn’t heavily seasoned; instead, they offered a side of sea salt and herb seasoning for dipping, which was a nice touch. The truffle fries were exquisite, and my strawberry lemon drop was perfectly balanced with sweetness and alcohol, exactly how I enjoy it. Throughout my meal, the bartenders frequently checked in to ensure everything was to my liking, going above and beyond. I couldn’t finish the meal, so I took the leftovers home along with an extra onion bread roll. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend this place!"
