"I really liked a few things at Paseo like the pork shoulder sandwich, tostones and the ability to eat outside. I also love that Paseo uses only compostable dinnerware and cutlery AND they have good customer service. But a couple of things are a little off. For example, I expected the flavors to be more Cuban like, they weren't. The tostones were cooked perfectly but were pretty bland. They need something like a garlic mojo or at least a LITTLE salt. Also the black beans were a little on the sweet side with what tasted like cumin and smoky seasonings. They also serve the rice and beans in separate containers so we had no way to enjoy our rice and beans together in the same bowl or plate. Another biggie is that ALL of their sandwiches come standard with jalapeño. And because both their in store menu and online menu is a photo with tiny font that you can't enlarge significantly, you may not notice the reference to jalapeño in every sandwich. And if you familiar with Caribbean food you wouldn't even consider it. Biting into jalapeño when you aren't expecting it will ruin your experience ESPECIALLY if you are allergic peppers."
