"Well, I think we found one of the top Pho restaurants in San Diego County. The ambiance is quite nice, really quality experience given the unremarkable commercial center it is located in. (Sorry to be so blunt) The broth is good to above average, not the clearest or leanest like Pho Kitchen, but pretty good in my opinion. The rare steak is tender and the texture of the meat and onions compliment the bowl well. The noodles don't appear to be anything special when compared to other restaurants, but the combination of thin rice noodles, flavorful broth, and tender slices of rare steak strike a perfect balance for me. Has it dethroned my favorite pho restaurant in San Diego? It is very close given that we have now been to Pho Duyen Mai every week since late May and we never leave unsatisfied. If I had to pick, I would give a slight nod to Pho Kitchen based on the superior broth and fresh flat rice noodles, but overall for customer service, food quality, and ambiance, it is a virtual tie."
