"This is the place you need to eat at with you're family and friends to celebrate whatever special occasion comes up. I swear, there are at least 2 times the amount of vegan options here than there are non-vegan, so that's something to look forward too. So anyway, last night I and my family went here to celebrate my little brothers birthday. It was my first time eating in the restaurant and let me tell you, the staff is really nice and the decor is so quaint. I immediately really liked being there. Then after we sat down and ordered our dinner, they brought us this tray with some really fluffy bread along with butter, biscotti, and olives (all vegan). It was then that I knew I came to the right place. That stuff was so good. Then after a little while, they brought our salad and appetizers. I got buffalo cauliflower, mac n chz balls, and mozzerella sticks. Wow. That buffalo cauliflower was outstanding, I will be getting it again. As for the mozzarella sticks, they were really good, the mac n chz balls were a little plain but still ok. I wish the mozzarella sticks and mac n chz balls had a cheeser taste. But I was really happy to try it out. And of course the salad was good, the vegetables tasted really fresh btw. Anyway, moving on to the dinner. For dinner, we got a seitan parm, fettuccini alfredo, and eggplant rollatini. I loved the fettuccini alfredo, I will definitely be getting that again. The seitan parm was good but I thought it mimicked chicken too well, and I don't like the taste of meat, so I won't get that again. To be honest, I was a little disappointed by the eggplant rollatini, I've had it quite a few times from their chain restaurant in Rockville Center and the Rockville center location does it better. What I can say though is I prefer the cheese used at this location over Daiya cheese, and the Rockville center location uses a lot of Daiya cheese (I still love the Rockville Center location a lot though). So moving on, after trying out all this food, I ended up having massive leftovers, which is awesome because that means the party won't end right away! Also as a side note, my grandparents are meat eaters and they came with us, they got the shrimp parm entre and loved it. So to sum everything up, I HIGHLY recommend coming here."

"Why do they bother asking to make note of about a special occasion during reservations if they do nothing to honor it? In times of Covid, one would think they would go out of their way to show appreciation to their native Floridian customers who dare to come out. We both ordered a dessert didn’t even get a “Happy Anniversary” or a candle. Not asking for anything for free but that would be nice.Ambiance: Nice updated yet cozy room with maybe quiet couples aside from one rowdy group of which ruined the atmosphere. Not the fault of restaurant but I asked for a quiet romantic table to celebrate our anniversary. They had a second room they could have put us in. Our choices were a table next to the rowdy crowd, or sit next to kitchenbathrooms.Service: Staff wore masks but not gloves so that was off putting. Service was perfectly attentive but not intrusive. Gave us a nice amount of time in between courses.Food: Tomatoes on caprese salad were ice cold. Tomatoes should be served room temperature. An Italian restaurant should know this better than any other. Poor quality tomatoes. Enjoyed the flavor of the veal ravioli although extremely al dente, and I love al dente but this was crunchy! The bolognese was flavorless like a kid’s dish and the linguine was surprisingly overcooked. Especially compared to the ravioli. No consistency. Even the butter pats were frozen solid. Tiramisu was too American, with too much marscarpone cream and not enough espresso flavor or lady fingers. The large portions did not make up for the lack of flavor.Overall: I’m very sorry to knock on the little things but they just missed the mark on every single thing. I hate to say anything that would hurt a restaurant in these uncertain times but I hope this helps them improve. I’m sure they have their regulars who are treated better. If you’re not one of them, I’d try somewhere else"

"Amazing food that covers other sins. First, I want to say that everyone leaves laughing and happy. It is one of the first things that I noticed when I arrived. We sat near the door, and it was a joy to watch. It's a small place and tables are a bit too close. The back room is an unreasonable cluster where people are right on top of each other. It seemed stuffy when we arrived and that turned into a glistening sweat as we ate. . The server was delightful. She knew the menu and described things well. We really enjoyed her. We ordered cocktails. Her wine was delicious. My old fashioned was perfect. The starter salad was great for my wife. Even my little plate of greens and berries were unexpectedly good. The wait for our meal was unpleasant. We were hot and sweaty. The restaurant was annoyingly loud. We mentioned the heat to the waitress who was sweet and agreed but could not solve the problem. I had scallops with veggies which were amazing. I loved every bite. The scallops had that perfect crispy outside and tender flavorful center. My wife had the beef rib over pasta. She raved about her meal. I snuck a bite and it was flavorful and tender. She carried on about how delicious the pasta was and how incredible the mushrooms were. The meal was truly exceptional. There was a fly that would not leave our table. At the end of our meal, it found a mate and made love on the window sill as we waited for the check. Even they left happy."

"that was my second time in osteria, the first being before they turn off for covid. after almost 2 years I was very excited to come back! eating was absolutely amazing, and I remembered what brought me back. I have only two small weights that are small. one is that it is smaller than I remembered, so my date and I were placed in the middle of everything, so it is less cozy and intimate than I liked, and that it is loud. (this is part because we came on a Saturday evening during the rush, so everyone was filled with table. I imagine if they go in a less busy time, it would be much more cozy and quieter. certainly something to consider when they 're on a first time date, or plan to have a conversation that remains. the appetizer we chose was burrata, which came in a beautiful, squishy little baptism, on the top of prosciutto, with roasted red pepper and caramelized spices. I never had better burrata in my life as creamy, salty and decadent as it was. my date had the Butternuss-Quash-Ravioli (which she worshipped and really enjoyed, and I had the pistachio correction of cadjau, which was perfectly tender and came on a delicious pool of rice that they were forbidden to call a bit suppy, but perfect, slightly salty, nutty and al dente. we both ordered a glass red wine that could be a bone of satisfaction for $16 $18 per glass, led to a very meager pouring. (maybe this is standard, I don't go much out! be they that, as it can be, this restaurant on her must go to list for incredible, authentic, Italian tariff. the host was beautiful and the prices are fair."
