"Our dinner was very nice. The ambiance and atmosphere were great except that the lighting at our table was too low and dark. We had to use a flashlight to read the menu. The service was very good. Our waiter attended to our needs and requests very well and his attention to details was great as was his timing. This was not easy for him as we ate slowing, had extended conversations, and took our time. The food arrived at exactly the right time. The food was excellent with a few exceptions. The LINGUINE VONGOLE was excellent except that one of the clams was dead, which should never happen at a higher end New England restaurant! The LINGUINE PESTO was very good, just a bit dry. The pesto was excellent with a very fine oil. The SALMONE ASPARAGI was perfect. The cheese plate was a disappointing. The selection was poor, the portion size was small, the fruit was not ripe and the presentation was disappointing. I do not recommend the cheese plate. The bread rolls were good. Overall, we had a nice meal and extended conversation. We look forward to our next visit. I highly recommend Toscano at Beacon Hill."
