"I've been to this establishment several times growing up. By far, they're one of my favorite pastime places to eat and spend time with friends and family. Their location is very homy, comfortable, and their staff is attentive and respectful. There's a professional vibe too. "My wife and I have been going to James’ Beach for years running, first it was a special occasion spot, and before long were regulars. James and Danny have been treating us like family the whole time, and we’ve lost count of the wonderful meals and memories. Now that they’re finally back after months of takeout only due to the pandemic, it feels like home again. We went for three meals in a row for the first two days they were back. This time we both had burgers, and they were are as good as any in L.A. We’ve never had anything but a great meal AND a great time. My current fave: Confit of duck tacos. Just amazing. And the place is Venice, so come and find out what that means"

"I really was hopeful about this place... Our server, Olivia, was great! She was prompt, friendly and super sweet. She even gave me a heads up about the local soft drink they serve. The decor is so fun and vivacious crocheted giant fried eggs and bacon what??? My friend ordered the double double and I ordered crab cake eggs Benedict. It came out in about 2 minutes and 45 seconds. That's not a good sign. My crab cakes were beyond overcooked. They are black and hard on the outside. I didn't try to eat the crispy English muffin. I ate the inside of the crab cake and eggs. My friend's bacon was extra extra crispy and her scrambled eggs were brown. The French toast was good, though. We won't go back. Olivia, we will miss your fabulous lashes!"

"There’s a reason Kingfisher has survived so long in Tucson: reliably good food and service. We had the specials of the night and both were delicious. Perfectly prepared, smoky trout and a moist, macadamia-crusted Hawaiian fish. We also tried dessert. The flourless chocolate torte was perfectly sweet—not too bitter but not sickeningly sweet either. The carrot cake was moist and nicely spiced. We also appreciated their attention to masking, distancing, and overall care for the wellness of their patrons. They have the tables spread out more than pre-Covid, and require reservations. We will definitely come back more frequently given our good experience here."

"I have lived nearby for years and neglected to try this place, thought it was too heavy or unhealthy. I was wrong! This place has very tasty home kitchen, but without overweight of salt or fat. We ate there three times a week after we tried! Portions are also very generous, I have two fixed meals from each dinner special. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort food without the guilt!"

"Red isn't quite the same that it used to be. The place itself is really nice and the bar area is also great. Their cocktail menu and bartender were also very good. While the place, people, and service were very good, while the menu has plenty to choose from, the food was just.......decent to good. It's not the Red of the past which always turned-out excellent dishes. I had Chicken Scarpariello which was two whole chicken thighs covered in sauteed peppers and onions with tiny pieces of sausage served with mashed potatoes. That is not Chicken Scarpariello! My wife had the ravioli which was decent but no great shakes. Not a lot of flavor. Again, just not what we've been used to from Red in all the years we've been going there."
