"Pleasantly surprised by the food and quick service. Wanted American Chinese and decided to give this place a try despite the reviews— so glad I did! Ordered online and it was ready when it said it would be. Went inside and saw how food was cooked fresh and to order. It was clean and very deliciously smelling. Ordered an appetizer sample and it smelled and tasted fresh and with quality. Got an order of general gau’s for my husband he and liked his meal. The flavors of the lo mein had that wok flavor and I was impressed. The food was fried well but not only. Will definitely come here again."

"I went to an event at the Kowloon... the food was good but, the service was not.. it was a party of 35 people.. the waiters, did not understand us too good..(understandably to a certain point). .. we had, to wait a while for our food and drinks.. they also.. when, bringing over the bill included their tip!!.. I thought, we decide how much we would like to give them.. depending on service etc we ususally give 20%.. they would not take our money ,until we agreed to this... I never heard of such a thing.. even thou, we liked the food.. we will not be going there for a night out or an event...ever again..."

"A new favorite of mine for high quality sushi and Japanese cuisine. If you plan to dine in, recommend getting a reservation. A favorite dish from our meal was the wonton soup. And no, I 'm not a soup guy. But the broth was so rich in flavor and clearly scratch made. The soup was packed with greens and veggies, very hearty and well worth the space it took in my stomach, as the udon noodle dish was not nearly as worthy. There was a strong mustard flavor on the noodles and there were more veggies in the soup than in the veggie udon! Noodles were cooked properly and ate just fine but that 's all they were, just fine . The agadashi tofu was a second favorite. A tofu dish that was lightly fried, silky, served in a broth that was subtly sweet and bursting with earthy aroma. We also very much enjoyed the variety of maki rolls we tried. Crab rangoons were a proper representation of what you would want in the north shore. The pork gyoza were delicate and pan fried, portions were well worth adding it as a first appy."

A friend of mine often goes to China King for lunch, and the dishes he ordered always smelled and looked fantastic. So, I decided to give it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised—I really liked it! "Something has changed here either a new manager, chef or they stopped caring. I got takeout and it was pretty terrible. The only thing hot and fresh were the fried shrimp. The crab Rangoon’s and fried wontons were clearly reheated they were lukewarm at best and dark brown on the edges while seemingly slightly undercooked in the middle. The crab rangoons were runny. The wontons had zero flavor and were clearly bordering on stale. I am so disappointed. Been going here over a year and food was always so good. I will say the woman at the counter was very friendly and pleasant but unfortunately they’ve lost a customer!"

"Who said, You get what you pay for? Musta been Captain Obvious. China King is a very inexpensive place for lunch. $7.95 for entree, egg roll, and a fortune cookie, and it 's worth about $7.00. They are very fast, the food is edible, and I have never gotten sick there. However, I 'm sick of ordering ahead only to arrive to see a blank stare when they claim that they never received the order. It 's strange because I have an email confirmation, but you don 't have the order...again. I 'd say the order ahead feature on-line is successful about 20% of the time. China King is popular with construction crews and people who are willing to overlook the soda machine being broken for the last 6 month and the lighting that doesn 't work. There is a mid-century torchiere light plugged in at the counter so you can reorder your call ahead order. As for me and my family, I choose to cut my exposure and go elsewhere."

"Two fantastic experiences! I always feel you can tell the integrity of a restaurant by their takeout service. We took a chance and ordered takeout and were so impressed. They even cared about the presentation of the food in the to-go container. So a week later we dined in for lunch and were even more impressed! The service was outstanding. The food was so fresh with great vegetables. The shrimp dishes had ample shrimp. ? The Szechuan green beans are amazing. The Kung Pao pork super fresh. Even the fried rice I don’t normally eat was great.This is my family’s new favorite Chinese place and we will be ordering way more often.Note: I will say I originally ordered orange beef and it wasn’t great. So I won’t order that again but everyone else’s dish was great and so was mine the second time."
