"we reserved a table back in march 2022 for a 30th anniversary dinner and were super excited to have a great meal after we got our vows renewed. we travel all the way to hawaii and are ready for the big day and go on to their website to check the menu again and find out they are CLOSED!!! i call to confirm and find out why NO ONE contacted us and find out from their message they closed in april 2022. no calls, no emails, no nothing from anyone to inform us they would not be open. no one from open table apparently was informed either as i called them and they could give me no answer on what was going on. needless to say we were lucky we looked before we showed up to an empty, closed restaurant for our anniversary dinner. SO SO disappointed with both the restaurant and open table for the worst experience ever! if we ever get back to maui there is NO WAY we would eat here or recommend to anyone."

"The atmosphere was clean, but the lighting made it difficult to see the menu. I ordered a chicken sandwich, but it was tough and lacking in flavor, almost like eating shoe leather. I was hoping to get some pepper, but I wasn't informed that they were out, nor did anyone ask if I wanted a substitute. On the plus side, I enjoyed the fries. However, I'm not sure if I'll return. I was really disappointed, especially since it was my daughter’s birthday and she is vegan; I had hoped for more vegan options. Unfortunately, no one seemed willing to help with that. The meal was a bit underwhelming, but at least the company was enjoyable."

"Took a minute or two for our server to get to the table once we were seated, but once we got our first visit, everything was perfect! Food came quickly: our server was SO nice friendly and personable; meals were delicious! The ribs fell off the bone, the Mac was house made and scrumptious; the burger was cooked perfectly well done and still flavorful; and my simple salad was beyond expectation! Definitely recommend! "Shrimp mediterranean sauce was very think. Lasagna was pretty salty. Our server was a disappointment, very slow to respond, forgot my drink refill, forgot to bring to go boxes, brought 1 box when we asked for 2, said he forgot. End of the night I asked for our check, brought the check, I immediately gave my credit card, he forgot to run it, all while we were sitting there waiting. Finally brought it. All in all pretty disappointing. We went to Trader Joe’s to have desert."

"Well I should have told my daughter we were leaving as soon as I saw a fingernail on our table! Unfortunately we were pressed for time and couldn't go somewhere else. In addition the restaurant smelled like smoke, not smokiness like wood fired pizza, but smoke like a fire. There was hardly anyone in the place but it still took a while for the server to come over to greet and take drink orders, probably because he spent most of his time trying to flirt with a coworker. Caesar and beet salads were OK and the bread is good. My daughter's butternut squash pasta came with a ring of liquid and oil around it like a moat very unappetizing. My daughter also said it was so salty. She was very hungry but she didn't eat even half we told the waiter and got a “sorry about that” and that was it. My lobster ravioli was good but everything needed seasoning with the exception of my daughters over salted entree. There were also 3 menus and that wasn't explained to us. One was Boston dine out, one was the regular menu and one was for date night. Confusing. I know people love this place but I don't get it —Medicocre food, servers that can't be bothered and the cleanliness is questionable."

"Used to be our favorite place to go for Italian and then owners got crazy with the prices. Not sure what happened. Went two weeks ago with my wife and mother-in-law and the bill was $160 with one appetizer shared between the three of us and two Drinks each. (They both had Gnocchis). Paid $27 for my spaghetti carbonara which was pasta with five shrimp and some bacon and sauce. Surely understand some price increase due to struggling with Covid but having been in the restaurant business that’s just a bit ridiculous. Very sad but I won’t be back at those prices."

"The food was incredibly delicious, but the service left something to be desired. We started with arancini (thanks to the waitress who condescendingly corrected my pronunciation) and fontina flatbread. The arancini were delightfully light, while the flatbread was just an average small pizza. The entrees, however, were much better: the pappardelle al ragu was like a warm, savory embrace. The highlight of the evening was the spaghetti al granchio, which featured black spaghetti with crab meat that was expertly seasoned and truly a feast for the senses. Unfortunately, the service was slow, even though the restaurant was only half full for most of our meal (it’s a cozy spot). My dining companion described the staff's attitude as a mix of heightened obliviousness."

"Perhaps our standards are different, coming from the South, but we were surprised that our table wasn't checked on after our drinks and food were served. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived and we were seated promptly. However, we were taken aback by the prices on the brunch menu. I ordered eggs with home fries and a side of bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly, but the bacon was overdone. My wife and son shared the fish and chips, which they thought was good. Our daughter had the fried chicken sandwich, which she enjoyed. Overall, nothing was terrible but for the price, we expected better quality. The restaurant does offer beautiful views across the river into New Jersey. I might suggest this place to friends visiting the area, but I don't think we'll be returning."

"We've been patrons since when as I've said previously we saw a write up in the SD UT about a YOLOtype list of things to try in San Diego. The White Room Pizza Alexander's was included, and for years now, I've probably ordered that pizza It has NEVER disappointed. The ingredients on this pizza are amazing. We started with wine the burrata bruschetta appetizer. My husband ordered the Special pizza. He mixes his order up each time we're there, I do not. Derek was our server and could not have been nicer. Starbucks sends out a survey asking if their barrista or staff took time to get to know you. I usually say no, given the short interaction. Derek DID. He made us feel like valued patrons, and we appreciated this level of customer service. We will certainly ask for him the next time we're in. Now that COVID restrictions have loosened up a bit, we'll be back again before the end of the year.Thank you Alexander, we love your place"

"We just had an amazing experience at this restaurant, and I felt compelled to leave a review just five minutes after leaving. Our waiter, Enrique, was exceptionally outstanding. You know how sometimes you have high expectations for a special occasion (like your lucky seventh anniversary), and you worry you might be disappointed? Well, I had high expectations for the evening, and Enrique, along with the beautifully prepared food and the complimentary dessert, completely exceeded those expectations. We will definitely be returning! The staff was attentive, kind, generous, and knowledgeable. We were treated exceptionally well, and I can’t express enough how wonderful our experience was. It was truly more than just dinner."

"Only suggesting if you want to sit somewhere up on a deck looking at the plaza and even then it was meh. Food- no, drinks- no. We got a prickly pear margarita- I didn’t taste any tequila and the prickly pear flavoring was extremely mild and it came out warm! How does a margarita that’s supposed to be on ice served warm?!? My husband got the green chile cheeseburger and fries- fries were awful. They were fresh and hot but tasted like bottom of the line freezer burnt fries. Burger was ok. I got the chicken tortilla soup . DO NOT GET THIS. $12 for 4 ounces of soup, bag frozen mixed chopped vegetables and one slice of avocado on top even though the menu said sliceS of avocado. Literally bagged frozen mixed vegetables like you get from the store of Celery, corn chopped carrots. Thats it! No onions- no cilantro, no lime, no green chile, no shredded cheese and Two small chunks of pressed chicken. It was Awful. The flour tortilla that comes with the soup is the size of a street taco and had zero flavor- It was like I ate styrofoam. I wish I would have headed to the 3.8 star rating. We sat on the balcony which has a nice view of the plaza however, the table was filthy. You sit right next to the white wood ledge of the balcony and that was filthy as well. And not with dirt that blew in but grime from peoples fingers. They sat us down as soon as the person removed the plates and never wiped the table off. There was grime and food stuck on the sides of the table ledge. Just overall no."

"Don't order the Cod bland and tasteless. Don't order the scallops three for $40. Service is slow. Braised pork is very good. Deserts are great. You'll have to yell to be heard. Prepare to repeat yourself all night. Good luck parking. Ask where the valet stand is located and plan your approach carefully. If you miss it, you'll spend 30 minutes trying to get back to it (one way streets). Then you'll wait 15 minutes for the valet to show up."

"What a great gem of a restaurant. Had the shrimp special with the au gratin polenta and was so pleased. The pork chop was raved about by on of our guests. Server upbeat and helped us pick out some tasty appetizers and desserts. Wine list is impressive. I highly recommend this place. Will be back"

"Our waitress Rhiannon was great! friendly, friendly accommodation. We went for mothers day. Unfortunately, the restaurant website has not been updated for the occasion We had no idea the break was $45 per person. The costs did not include drinks or ancillary dishes such as domestic frits, bacon, etc. Even if my children called to make reservations, the answer did not tell us that Brunch did not begin at noon at 11:00. I wanted to order chocolate chip pancakes (not on menu). Rhiannon was more than happy to accuse us, but $15 for two little pancakes! The food was very good, but we had no idea what happened to her mother's day Brunch! This day, an updated website seems to be appropriate. Especially for the first time visitors."
