"We began by stowing our belongings (especially light emitting devices!) in secure lockers and reviewing the tempting menu. After making our dinner selections, we were taken upstairs to await our server. Our server explained how he would get us seated in the dark and how he would be able to serve our food and drinks in the dark.At first, being in pitch darkness was a little disorienting, but once I got used to not having any visual cues I was able to relax and enjoy the company I was with and the amazing food. [Appetizer: beet and apples salad with goat cheese. Dinner: rabbit saddle with poultry, apricot and bacon. Dessert: surprise item] Being in the dark with family was fun, but what I did not expect was that we would also end up striking up conversations with patrons at other tables. Apparently being in the dark breaks down certain public social norms. An awareness opening experience, terrific food, and great stories to tell, even if I did end up sticking my finger in the butter once. :)"
