"We came here after wanting something healthy and looked at the menu and reviews online. The reviews were pretty good. The cashier was super sweet and polite. The atmosphere felt more so of like a pub of some sorts. It was clean and plenty of seating around. However, it was pretty empty when we came on a Sunday. There was a plasma screen showing the football game on the other side of the restaurant. The have a staff shortage and we were patient and understanding. However, the order of our food came at awkward times. My husband's food came way ahead (he ordered the beef bowl) of mines and we couldn't eat together or else his food would get cold. I got the black bean burger and yuca fries and instead of the fries coming out with the burger, it came out way before the burger. My husband's beef bowl came out 10 minutes after ordering. The yuca fries came 15 minutes after ordering and my black bean burger came like 40 minutes after the yuca fries. My ratings on the food:Beef bowl: 5.5/10 I tried some of my husband's and it was super saucy and salty. The beef was more of a corned beef hash consistency and while the flavor was there, it was overly salty. My husband had to eat some of my yuca fries to balance the saltiness. The rice to beef ratio was off and he was left with rice soup after he ate all the beef. Yuca fries: 7/10 it came with 8 big pieces and was steaming hot when we got it. It also came with an aioli that was delicious. They added some sort of seasoning on it that made it flavorful. I enjoyed the yuca fries as they were cooked perfectly and nice and hot.Black bean burger: 7.5/10 I loved the flavor of the black bean burger and it was cooked like how I liked it, nice and crisp around the edges. It's definitely homemade and I enjoyed the toppings with the burger. It came with a slaw, avocado, chimichurri sauce on the side, and a spicy chipotle sauce that all went well together. The patty itself, contained corn and was seasoned very well. However, I would not pay $13 for it again. It did not come with fries and I had to pay an additional $4.20 for the yuca fries. So that's like a whopping $17.20 for both burger and fries. However, it did come with a very small serving of macaroni salad, so I wasn't too mad about that. The macaroni salad was okay. I had a lot of mac salad in my lifetime as I love mac salad and this was mediocre. Not the greatest, but decent. Ube ice cream: 3/10 disappointing. They didn't even give us a full scoop but half of a scoop. It wasn't homemade and we knew exactly what brand it came from. I understand it was $2, but wish they would at least give us a full scoop instead of half a scoop. Everything was on the pricier side and to be fairly honest, I don't think we would come back. The food was just okay. It wasn't great nor was it bad but we wouldn't go out of our way. Service was nice but not outstanding. As far as being a healthier alternative, I don't know as a lot of items on the menu were definitely calorie bombs. I really wanted to like this place but I left disappointed. However, I encourage you to try this restaurant out, as you might have a different experience and palette than I do."

"I visited this restaurant again today and asked to speak with a manager before placing my order. I wanted to ensure that the issues I experienced during my last visit would not happen again, as I have been ordering the same meal since this location opened years ago. When I ordered the fried chicken plate with an extra side of chicken and requested a discount, the manager informed me that I had already received a refund during my previous visit. I thanked her and paid the cashier $27.45, then waited a long time for my order. I thought it was better to wait for the correct items. However, when I checked my bag on the way out, I noticed that the mashed potatoes were missing. I turned back and asked about the rest of my order, and an employee quickly scrambled to put some mashed potatoes in a container for me. I mentioned the missing item to the manager, but she just looked at me without any further acknowledgment. It’s frustrating because this situation has become a frequent occurrence. When I got home, I discovered that the container only had a small amount of mashed potatoes, not the full serving I expected. I’ve been coming to this location since it opened, and I am disappointed to report that the quality has declined. During this visit, the chicken was tough and excessively salty, and there were smaller portions crammed into smaller containers, which is a change from when they used to provide larger takeout boxes. Additionally, last time they forgot the bread altogether. Despite the restaurant not being busy, I waited over 20 minutes for my meal. I noticed an employee carrying a huge stack of food for their break while paying customers, like myself, experienced reduced portion sizes. I spent $26.40 on my meal, but it was not worth the wait, the inadequate amount of food, or the decline in quality compared to previous visits. I'm left feeling disappointed after all these years of loyalty to this location. All I want is to receive what I pay for—nothing more, nothing less."
