"Aka is a sweet spot to have in your neighborhood, the service was great (fast, welcoming, very polite) and the sushi/sashimi is a great value. It was only us and a couple of other tables for a Saturday afternoon. If we're ever on this side of town again, we'll be back! It was a rainy day so their miso soup really hit the spot while we waited for our hamachi chili sashimi. The hamachi was flavored just right, not too spicy but just enough for the ponzu sauce to balance it out. We ordered 5 rolls: Letry Try, Hamachili, Gloria, Shaggy Dog, and the OMG roll They all tasted great, the only minor complaint is that the Shaggy Dog has a little aftertaste like the oil it was fried is was due to be replaced but it was still good!"

"Sometimes, sushi. Sometimes, conveyor sushi. I dropped in for lunch having a need for some fresh fish and a feel-good meal. I wasn't all that impressed with the dozens of look-alike rolls that drifted by me on the conveyor, so I added an order of their sashimi combo. Every item I tried was fine, but not much better than some of the Supermarket sushi I've had. I tried one of the items items (dumplings/stickers) that was cold and a kimchi salad that was warm and limp. It was all just okay. Friendly enough staff. Much like at a buffet, I'm guessing the quality of the food is better when it's busier. Their prices are not in line with the level of product they are serving."

"So.. normally i love sushi but this is the first time i had to leave without finishing everything. The service was nice the people were friendly, the music was kinda depressing that 's an in the moment thing though)But let 's talk about the food... Now that Amagi has changed ownership, so I 'd watch this place closely. The miso soup was cold and the sushi was very much room temperature. The quality of the fish was weird too, i noticed the flesh on one of the fish would shred when I 'd run my chopstick along it lightly which i haven 't seen before it had a weird look so i poked it)I feel bad because i think they could do well but they have some improving to do"

"Upon entering I paused and read the menu, in the entry way. As I entered the main area I was greeted by the hostess. I asked about happy hour, which is Mon-Thur and Sat, I was a day late or a day to early however being that it was my first time, i was granted the Happy Hour Menu. Chef Esteban brought me out edamame, ginger, wasabi, and the hostess brought me a hot sake. I ordered the Alaska Roll and Philadelphia. Chef Esteban cuts art artistic, flavorful and presentable layout... Before leaving he let my sample a piece of salmon belly, wow, very nice cut... I tried a cut with rice and a cut without rice... I know what I'll be ordering next time. I recommend the Alaska Roll and salmon belly sushi cut by Chef Esteban!"

"I visited this restaurant during my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised by the short wait to be seated. Originally, I had ordered for pickup, but we ended up dining in instead. Since I’m not very experienced with ordering sushi, I opted for the Philadelphia Rolls, a hand-rolled California roll, and a cooked salmon roll. I also got the gyoza, which were quite tasty. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen—it was incredibly flavorful, especially the broth! I would have given a higher rating, but our server seemed to vanish toward the end of our meal."

"The sushi portions were small and the tuna was lacking in quantity, so much so that it couldn't even fill the small container. Additionally, the sushi was not rolled neatly as shown in the picture. I was expecting better quality for the price. However, I returned for a second visit and noticed an improvement, as shown in the second picture. Thank you, I have raised my rating to 4 stars."

"Best sushi I've had in a long time; tasted and looked fresh, rice well cooked and although the vinegar in the rice was much more subtle than I prefer, I feel like that is what most people in the area like, and it does work especially well with more flavourful rolls. "Mijo Sushi in general is amazing. Great rolls like the salmon skin and pipeline roll. But sometimes the service it hit and miss. This location specifically over a number of years. Picking up shouldnt be a difficult task for this location but it is sometimes. We almost walked out with someone elses order due to the hostess not being able to help us and brushing us off quickly. "I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! They managed to accommodate us with a last-minute reservation, opting for a unique seating arrangement where we took off our shoes and sat on cushions with our legs under the table (which didn't have a backrest). However, they also offer regular tables and chairs for those who prefer a more traditional dining experience. The service was excellent, with our orders arriving quickly. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. I highly recommend trying the fresh wasabi; they don't compromise on quality, and the portion sizes are decent. The drink selection is extensive as well. The space was clean and well-furnished, and they even have fish food available to feed the koi in front of the restaurant."

"We have been here twice. Once for Hibachi and recently for dinner. We have heard there is usually a 10 to 15 minute wait but both times we did not have to wait at all! The Hibachi was SUPER FUN!
